Schedules Direct EPG data mapping - yuengling25 - 2020-03-26

I use Schedules Direct (SD) as my EPG data provider and am using tv_grab_az_sdjson_sqlite grabber to get everything into TVH (v4.2.8-36).

It appears there’s a rather large disconnect between the amount of data provided by SD and what ultimately is able to be displayed by Kodi via htsp pvr client. Specifically, things like genre, MPAA/TV rating information, etc. With the genre item, for example, everything shows as “other/unknown”. For release date, everything shows 12/31/1969. I realize (for the genre element, at least) that a lot of this comes down to SD not wrapping its genre info with the <genre></genre> tag. Rather, SD uses the <category></category> tag.

My question is, what gives? Are these mapping discrepancies something TVH would need to be adapted to handle in a future release? Is it something that needs to change in a future release of the pvr client? Or, am I just missing something simple (or even not so simple) that I can do on my end to make the appropriate adjustments to map things properly? SD definitely gives some of the most robust info out there so I see no reason to go elsewhere — especially since the JSON API supports tv show and movie poster artwork. The TVH forums didn’t yield much in the way of answers, so any insight offered here would be much appreciated.
