 I've seen that occasionally (no more than local networked files, though), but the vast majority of the time they get marked as watched.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - ManiacKill - 2018-01-20

hello, is read through the proxy Dash memory or is it all temporary?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-01-20

@wheemer Mine seem to be working.

@ManiacKill I just added removal of the manifest after it's been read. It's not in the zips. You'll find the manifests in special://temp/temp/ Special_protocol (wiki)

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - MB1968 - 2018-01-20

Hi is there a way to disable Search somewhere in the settings? It's not listed in folder settings. I prefer to use Quick Search in my menu and dont't need both search functions in my menu.

Jim 2018-01-12, 19:53 https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=326985&pid=2690612#pid2690612  “Everything else on youtube works fine, but youtube LIVE streams no longer work.  I don't know the exact date, but it stopped working early January.”

Then on POST 92  you mentioned:  DASH and proxy worked for me. Live streams that I try on youtube are now playing fine.
I want to confirm with you that youtube live stream is working for you because anvdpanic on post 103 he mentioned: “Live streams aren't fixed in this version, dash support is fixed and dash live streams work.  As far as HLS live streams (the default not working ones), I will hopefully get a chance to look at that today.”  I updated Kodi to 17.6 and still cannot get youtube live stream to work.  What did you do to get youtube live stream to work?

Thanks in advance

I copied the directory from the zip file and had it overwrite the existing youtube addon directory.  I then went into the youtube settings and enabled Mpeg-DASH and the corresponding proxy for it in the settings.  I am pretty green at this too noob, but my assumption is that some youtube live streams broadcast in DASH, and those work.  But some of the streams are HLS and those still won't work.  Every live stream I have tried so far has worked, so I am assuming they must be DASH.  If I run into a stream that does not work, I assume it is still HLS.  Someone please correct me if I am wrong but that is my understanding of this so far.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-01-20

@JimBexleySpeed Generally correct, live dash doesn't require the proxy, but does require inputstream.adaptive >= 2.0.12. Given they are working for you I would assume this is true in your case.

@MB1968 Just added, see below.

I've updated post #2 with release versions for 5.4.6 and 5.5.0

beta -> release changes:
- remove generated dash when it's read
- show/hide Search
- settings cosmetics
- string updates

When i dont use OSMC, how do i get it on a usual Kodi running or updated?

I have 2 machines, one running LibreELEC and the other running normal Kodi. It is not in the official Kodi Repo, is it?

I have found their site at https://github.com/peak3d/inputstream.adaptive, but do i just download and copy it to Kodi (where?)?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-01-21

inputstream.adaptive is a binary add-on and is not updated or installed the same way as python add-ons.

Windows and OSMC versions come with it.
LibreELEC I believe you're able to update it by
Code:
sudo apt-get install kodi-inputstream-adaptive
Others I'm not sure of off hand, if you're specific about os+kodi version others may be able to help as well.

Is it going to be also ofiicially in Kodi repo?

What about the 4K support, is there any progress regarding this?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-01-21

Will go to official when jdf76 has a chance.

I wouldn't expect >1440p anytime soon or at all at this stage. Can keep an eye on issue #257
