@anxdpanic: Is this still with the caveat that some streams (HLS?) still won't play even with mpeg-dash enabled?

Eg: For me the following France24 Live news stream still stops after a few seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J78SdCzzumA

@DjDiabolik 5.5.1 is only the addition of the video fix. Updates to 6 will still be coming.
 Ok.... thanks for all.

Ah.... if you thinks you need so other develops logs or you thinks i can check or send you to other information about my settings or similar ask whitout a problems and i can try to send to you for try to understand my little trouble about api json restore request.

Is it normal that I receive this proposal so often?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-02-18

@jmh2002 That's the first one I've seen. Thanks, I've added it to my list.

@DjDiabolik Shouldn't see it unless you default the settings under normal circumstances.

I've updated post #2 with alpha7.

anxpanic could you kindly check the following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SmyuXAk_AQ  This is TRT World News out of Turkey official live stream.  Unfortunately, every Arabic official live stream exhibits the same problem for me but the list is too long to list ...more than 200 channels.  Of course I have only checked a few but perhaps you can look at Al Jazeera Arabic Live https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgzIFarD1Cg and Al Mayadeen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOu9-Yxlz1s and ON E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OJ01miNum0.

Thanks for your help and feedback.

PS - if we are supposed to be using an updated input adaptive stream file...i have 1.08 on my Kodi and cannot install 2.1.13...i get some kind of error.  I am using Kodi 17.3.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-02-18

@registeringisnotfun All of those streams work fine. Updating inputstream.adaptive is different depending on the platform, windows and android install Kodi 17.6, linux you may have to install via apt. 'sudo apt-get install kodi-inputstream-adaptive'. Version 2.0.19 is the latest for Kodi 17.X

  • [fix] Signature deciphering

This should resolve videos that have been erroring.
Did'n work fo me. However youtube videos works via VPN (even via my home country server (Finland)) , but it ask api-keys and localisations every time I change vpn server. Search and screen changes are also extremely slow, few minutes.

Edit: Strange, but videos works fine now, only search is annoying slooooooow. Maybe the issue was on youtube side.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - mrteverett - 2018-02-18

@anxdpanic - Really appreciate the work you're doing here.  Any chance the Kodi plugin will work with livestream channels of the format https://www.youtube.com/user/Euronews/live (youtube.com/user/channelname/live) so as to avoid the issue with videoids (of the normal plugin format v=....) regularly expiring for livestream URLs?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-02-19

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Glenn69213 - 2018-02-19

I have basically the same setup and I don't know if the personal API instructions have now changed or not but I did not have to do the Oauth per the instructions. I just entered the API ID and you use the API key for both the API key & API secret. I checked the traffic in the API dashboard and it's definitely working.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - DjDiabolik - 2018-02-19

I have update, and usage, the alpha7 about 2 hours ago............ i have used it to watch some video and apparently all works whitout any problems but but suddenly, while I was scrolling through the video list after a "Search" again.....

He has come back out ......... after about one days whitout signs it's back. I reobtain the ask to restore the api json file.

As always, for not lost my personal API, i choose yes and this time i have taken note what's the exactly settings lost:
- I need to reactivate the personal my subscription list and need to reput the blacklist id.
- Need to reconfigure the "Safe Setting" and disable again the "Age Filter"
- Need to reconfigure the "Force Views" and need to reconfigure the ID.
- Need to reconfigure the "Cache".. usually i raise this value from default value of "5" to "20"

After this i see the "wizard" it's ready......... the wizard show up when try to launch the next video and i can reconfigure the language and zone......

This time i have obtain it whitout any warnings..... the last time was a fortuna i have activate the debug logs before to obtain this restore question......

*EDIT*
Meantime.......... i have update right now to 6.0.0 beta1.......... I lost the login and i need to re-login. It's normal this ?

It is possible that there are some corrupt files in mine setup can create all this little issue ?? You thinks it's a good idea to make a full clear re-install (delete manually the youtube addons folder also on userdata folder and also on add-on folder of my kodi) ?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - mrteverett - 2018-02-19

@anxdpanic - Thank you, thank you, thank you.  Ever I've since I've "cut the cord" I've been looking for an easy, streamlined way to watch livestreams and other content through Kodi all in one place.  The inability to get the livestream URLs working - or finding an answer - was frustrating.  And you sir have solved it!  I literally have tears in my eyes - probably no on ever said that for Euronews - but this is the content I want and can now get as I need it.  Thanks, just thanks!

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - jalvareh - 2018-02-20

Hi,

How I do install it from Github?

I already downloaded the Github browser, but when I search to install form user jdf76, it doesnt show the alfa version of the plugin. What I am missing?

regards

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - zoydberg - 2018-02-20

@jalvareh, the 2nd post of this thread has a link to their github with .zip release files, just download plugin.video.youtube-6.0.0.beta1.zip and install it in kodi using install from zip. thats all you need to do.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Fludizz - 2018-02-20

I have found an interesting case here with both 5.5.0 and 6.0.0-beta1 on LibreELEC 8.2.3 on Pi3

* MPEG-DASH enabled, including "use proxy"
* Inputstream.adaptive set with "Max resolution" to 1080p
* TV has native resolution for 1080p.

This goes wrong on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN0zPOpADL4 - it plays but the image is heavily distorted (lots of horizontal lines with sometimes some more of an image bleeding through).
If I reconfigure inputstream.adaptive with "max resolution" set to 720p, or if I disable MPEG-DASH in the Youtube addon, the stream plays just fine.

Can it be related to the resolution of the video? On 1080p setting, the stream is 2048x858@24fps; When on 720p setting, it is only 1280x536@24fps.

[Edit]Forgot to mention, the signature fault is confirmed fixed for me in the Beta1 version Smile[/edit]

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - wagnumpi - 2018-02-20

I'm sure it's probably been covered loads of times now but finding impossible to find definitive settings to get 4k enabled. Doing what I have managed to find online doesnt appear to get it working since everything still just plays in 720p. I've enabled Mpeg-dash, configured the input stream to be maxed out and set to manual and yet it doesnt appear to take any notice of it?

I have noticed it's still paying attention to the video quality settings under the general tab since changing this has an affect while people suggest it shouldnt so what else do i need to do to get it work? Does it need to have mpeg-dash proxy enabled? Someone help please! Many thanks in advance...
