This was visible because it prompts for importing the api keys from api_keys.json and then prompts to run the setup wizard.

I have just downgraded to 5.5.1 because it was getting very annoying because it disabled DASH each time this happens (ie: No live streams and resolution maxes at 720p).

[EDIT] nevermind - I should've refreshed the page, had missed that @DjDiabolik already reported similar behaviour.
If you cannot reproduce, let me know and I'll upgrade it to the beta again to test for you.
 Yes, I'm seeing similar behaviour. Keeps asking me to log back in to my main YouTube account after playing some random number of vids.

I had 629 lines in Favourites.
After the removal of the YouTube v.5.5.1, in the Favourites - 418 lines.
Perhaps in this, the problem?

I'm trying to find the cause of what is happening.
How can I get more information in the debugging log?
Can include the logging of some special component?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Fludizz - 2018-02-24

@anxdpanic
On Friday morning, I enabled debug logging and upgraded my 5.5.1 installation to 6.0.0~beta1 - I have been running this version with debug logging ever since but the issue has not reappeared for me so far...
Perhaps it was a specific issue with upgrade from version 5.5.0 with a specific configuration set that was resolved after I downgraded from 6.0.0~beta1 to 5.5.1 (I had to fully redo the configguration after downgrade, cleared function cache and temp files).

I'll leave it running with debugging enabled until Sunday evening but I don't expect to hit the issue anymore as it was fairly frequent last time (consistently showing a couple of times per day).

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Fludizz - 2018-02-25

@anxdpanic
OK - I have reproduced the issue and have the debug logs. I have a small snip (the last 20 minutes or so) of the debug log, any more is too much data for pastebin: https://pastebin.com/Gw0jdeRL
If you want the full log, send me a message and I will provide you the full debug log since system boot (05:05 local time).

In the pastebin, I got the dialog asking to import the api_keys.json file at timestamp 13:59 when I used the jsonrpc to start a youtube clip. So the settings.xml file should've gotten reset before this time.

I will leave beta1 installed for now if you need me to do further testing.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - perern - 2018-02-25

I can't get Youtube to play 1080p or 60fps. I've tried 5.5.1 and 6.0.0 with and without Dash and Dash proxy, 6.0.0 with Dash and proxy says that the address is already in use and won't play any videos. 5.5.1 with Dash and proxy plays at 360p or something. Otherwise it works at 720p 30fps 2Ch

 Try uninstall Youtube plugin and delete the "plugin.video.youtube" folder in "addon_data" then reinstall the plugin. I have the same problem and this solved it. Now it plays 1080p and Dash proxy enabled.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - emjayuu - 2018-02-25

I am using YT Add-on 5.5.1 for Kodi and have noticed that the Search function only retains the most recent search - it does not hold a number of previous searches as previously.   In addition, I note that after playing a new video if I select  'add to Favourites', this does not work and I must add video via the 'More' option (i.e. More / Add / Favourites).

I would be grateful for a steer on why this is happening and how it can be corrected.

I have noticed it's still paying attention to the video quality settings under the general tab since changing this has an affect while people suggest it shouldnt so what else do i need to do to get it work? Does it need to have mpeg-dash proxy enabled? Someone help please! Many thanks in advance...
 Can someone please respond. If there is a page somewhere with instructions out there can you please just direct me to it as i'm having no joy at all... Thanks

i;m guessing (since i dont use mpeg-dash) you would have to adjust you min/max settings to 400000000 (not exact). Unfortunately this is more of an inputstream setting since the video is passed to it.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - zoydberg - 2018-02-26

@wagnumpi, in the inputstream settings, try enabling "ignore display resolution", i dont have a 4k tv, but with that enabled I saw 4k resolution in codec info for 4k videos.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - wagnumpi - 2018-02-26

Thanks guys for your responses but still not getting 1080 or 4k options come up on videos... Specifically searching 4k videos and this is the selection it brings up if i dont have it set to autoselect before and after trying the two things suggested above;

@wagnumpi have you tried updating to the latest version of the widevinecdm.dll? the version of my widevine file is 1.8.4.1008, and my kodi version is 18, nightly dated 201801016.
