RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - wydropieitem - 2018-08-07

Hi @anxdpanic

Keep up the great work! Smile

Is it possible to play youtube video (single link, not playlist) from external *.pls file? I'm using *.pls playlist stored on external FTP site and linked with favourite item
Quote:ActivateWindow(10025,"http://ftp_site/kodiPlaylist.pls",return)

What I'm trying to achieve is playlist containing trailer from Youtube and it's corresponding movie link, for example

* [TRAILER] Big Buck Bunny
* [MOVIE] Big Buck Bunny

I've ended with following playlist file:
Quote:[playlist]
File1=plugin://plugin.video.youtube/play/?video_id=aqz-KE-bpKQ
Title1=[TRAILER] Big Buck Bunny

File2=http://download.blender.org/peach/bigbuckbunny_movies/big_buck_bunny_480p_surround-fix.avi
Title2=[MOVIE] Big Buck Bunny]

However, after clicking on first element (or pressing ENTER) nothing happens. When clicking using right mouse button and "Play from here" - video is played completely fine. I've also tried putting direct YT link to playlist (link copied from youtube.com), but with same "no luck".

Here is the reproduction video, when it seems nothing is happening I'm pressing Enter button.

And here is the log - I've trimmed it to scenario, when I click on first item and play it using "Play from here"
kodi.log

Could you please provide me any guidelines how to properly implement playlist file? I mean it's not really an issue, cause using RMB menu is possible, but I'm tryin' to implement it for my dad. I'm using dev build - if that matters.
Best Regards and thanks for help Smile

Large delay in receiving the data - strannik-j - 2018-08-09

Good day!
Have a computer
CPU: AMD FX-4100 4200 MHz
RAM: 16 Gb
OS: MANJARO Linux 4.16.18-1 x86_64
Kodi 17.6

Problem with Youtube plugin:
very long spinning loading animation. Time to load the list of videos for a long time starts the video itself. Internet I have a good (20 MBit).
And after starting the video player everything works fine: you can rewind the movie without problems, but it is necessary to run another movie, again wait a few minutes.

Log here:
https://pastebin.com/tAP9DU0f

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-08-09

@wydropieitem Thank you for the information, I was able to reproduce and don't have an solution atm. I have added an issue until it gets resolved

@strannik-j It looks like either a request to youtube is taking that long, or it may be json-rpc requests from something as well. You can enable Component-specific logging for JSON-RPC requests and reproduce the log to see if what is causing
Code:
04:01:18.707 T:139900564236032   DEBUG: CWebServer[9091]: request received for /jsonrpc
04:03:01.495 T:139900463523584   DEBUG: Previous line repeats 69 times.

@nuentes On the profile that doesn't work, go to the add-on's Settings -> Maintenance section and Delete function cache database

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - wydropieitem - 2018-08-09

@anxdpanic, thanks for reply!

Wow, I didn't know that you will treat this as bug - really appreciate this! Smile
For now, I've made simple workaround - I've created additional STRM file on FTP server, which contains link to youtube, like
Quote:plugin://plugin.video.youtube/play/?video_id=xxxxxxxxxxx
Then - I'm calling it from *.pls file, for example

Quote:[playlist]

File1=http://ftp_server/YT_Trailer.strm
Title1=[TRAILER] From Youtube

File2=http://download.blender.org/peach/bigbuckbunny_movies/big_buck_bunny_480p_surround-fix.avi
Title2=[MOVIE] From Internet

So, after pressing ENTER once - video is played perfectly. If you can fix the issue someday, I'll be really glad - but please, do not make high priority for this! Smile

 Thanks, I tried to find any InputStrem Adaptive for raspbian that is higher or equal to v. 2.0.12 and I found only v. 2.0.19 "compiled by circulosmeos for ODROID-C2" that I installed in Kodi.
But after that still can't play any live stream (it doesn't even open for one second as it was previously).

My logs are here
http://paste.kodi.tv/civamebufe (please take a look from the line nr 650+)

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-08-10

@yaslaw The version you installed is not compatible with your setup; see line #396. I believe the latest version readily available to Raspbian was 2.0.10, outside of that I believe you would need to compile the latest Krypton version(2.0.20) for Raspbian specifically. I'm not familiar with what that would require so I'm no help there.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - yaslaw - 2018-08-10

Hi,

Thanks for your tip. I compiled 2.0.20 version from source and installed in Kodi. But despite that still, I can't play any live strams.
My log is here: http://paste.kodi.tv/kasivajajo

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-08-10

It looks like you still have the same 2.0.19 version installed, see line #92

Thanks!

Question regarding Kodi 17.6 - is it possible to pass to external player simple youtube link from the plugin (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqz-KE-bpKQ )?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - cjdexter - 2018-08-11

Sorry guys. I hate to be the newb, but I can't get my head around this.

I get "Youtube error" when clicking the plugin. I installed the log uploader but get an error there too. I did the log manually....hopefully, correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I really appreciate this addon.  Its fantastic.  I have however been asking for some time now to please look over the live Arabic tv stations which broadcast live on YT which work however stop playing after 30 seconds or so.  There are a number of them that this happens with.

I will note one here for your review and I hope that this along with some of the others could be looked into when its convenient for you guys.  Again, not being critical. In fact very thankful.  Just hoping that as you catch more and more of these you wont have to address future requests.

Here is the link I am refering to.  I will note that this only started broadcasting live today as far as I know but its a growing trend.  Is it the case that each channel must be addressed individually?

Again here is the link of the particular one I am talking about today.

Played continuously for more than 5 minutes for me without any issues.

Post a log if you are still having problems.

How do I get the "Browse Channels" option?

I used to have it but after a reinstall / update it's gone.

I do have the "Browse Channels" option selected in settings but it still doesn't appear.
