RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - synixus - 2018-09-24

Hi all,

Just noticed that yesterday my YouTube addons 6.1.4 fail to play 720p stream. I tried changing it to manual resolution detection selection via Setting, menu pop-up without 720p and above.
Tested with YouMusic 1.0.3, Spotitube 2.1.2 and Youtube development version 6.2.1 beta-1 to no available.

You all guys got any clue? Kindly advice. Thanks.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - xgox - 2018-09-24

Hey guys! Getting Youtube error last 3 days only when trying to watch my subscriptions. Already tried clearing cache - did nothing. Reinstalled Add-on - did nothing. Signed out and in - did nothing. Please help me.

(I uninstalled all unofficial add-ons as requested)

Greetings!

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-09-24

@gian The add-on Settings -> Maintenance -> Delete data cache database

@xgox See post #2 for the beta version

@synixus Will need a full debug log (wiki) to see what is going on

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - xgox - 2018-09-24

@anxdpanic Thanks! But I also tried that already Sad Dont know what to do anymore. Any other ideas?

@xgox

The forum moderators have determined that Banned_addons (wiki) are present on your system. To receive assistance here, these banned items must be removed. If a clean log is not submitted within 3 days, then the relevant post(s) will be removed after this time.

I've tested it and it works again Big Grin  BUT you will loose all of your previous watched states.

If you've marked at least one video as watched in the YouTube plug-in under Leia and you're using Mysql/Mariadb the following sql query brings back the previous watched states (the current database name is kodi_video112 but this could change in the future):

sql:

update files set idPath = (select idPath from path where strPath = 'plugin://plugin.video.youtube/play/') where idPath = (select idPath from path where strPath = 'plugin://plugin.video.youtube/');

... and it's always best to do backups before tinkering with you're precious media metadata  Wink

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - mrnwton - 2018-09-25

hi,

first of all thanks for maintaining the youtube addon.

Second, sadly i need some help with it. After getting errors when trying to play youtube videos in kodi i've setup my own api key (according to your instructions) in the hope it would fix the issues.
I still get errors. IN order to eliminate possible problems caused by the app i use to send links from my phone (yatse) i tried playing straight from the youtube app out of my subscriptions.
The error is not consistent - if i try to play a video several times it will eventually play. The error also appears sometimes when i try to load my subscriptions.
Here is the part of the log it includes successful and failed attempts to play videos:

I've setup osmc just minutes before and only installed the youtube app.

I'd appreciate if someone could guide on how to fix this.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - fbacher - 2018-09-25

I am experiencing occasional hangs in Kodi 18 when the screensaver trailer service calls youtube to play a remote trailer. The log has:

COutput::StateMachine - signal: 3 form port: timer not handled for state: 2

It fails with both the latest Youtube Beta as well  as the one shipped with Kodi 18. I have tried with and without DASH.

I don't know if this is a base kodi or youtube or screensaver-trailer plugin issue. I can play the trailer directly from the MovieInfo window, but somehow not from the (unsupported) trailer screensaver . This did work fine in Kodi 17. Even in Kodi 18 the screensaver works most of the time. I'm hoping that someone might recognize the problem and point me in the right direction.

 (18.0-BETA3 Git:20180924-3238e00). Platform: Linux x86 64-bit

The complete log file is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/3d2gd9d7doizn6o/kodi.trailer.screensaver.log?dl=0

@Karellen  I am really sorry! I am not aware of having a banned add-on on my system! Can you please help me by telling me what add-on that would be? As far as I know I only have Youtube and ORF add-ons installed :O Little bit of a technical noob here Sad

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - xgox - 2018-09-25

@Karellen  I hope you were talking about the "superrepo repository"? It took me a while to find it under "packages" but its gone now! Smile Next time I hope my log file will be clean from the start! Wink

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - DjDiabolik - 2018-09-25

@anxdpanic immediatelly right now this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVybGgvGMlk

Whitout DASH enabled it's not works........ i have also enabled the dash but disabled the option for not use it for not live video but it's not playable.

Right now this video it's works only whit DASH enabled.......

Problably the non-dash source it's not encoded again on youtube ? The "Use for livestreams" and the other function inside dash prefrences it's need to fix ?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - DurhamDev - 2018-09-26

I was having the same problem most people have encountered over the past three days, with Subscriptions not working, however, I'm using it as we speak, so it looks like it's working again for the time being. I'm not sure if YouTube did something to change their side, or what. All I know is I'm happy to have Subscriptions back, for however short of a time it will be available. Smile
