You might have to follow the instructions in the first post of this thread.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Johnston - 2018-11-07

6.1.4 stopped working this morning and updating to 6.2.1 still isn't working.

Done a reset installed my own repo, it pulls YT from the git.  Installed YT tried a couple of videos that were working yesterday.

Full log https://pastebin.com/tZyfWbSC

EDIT: This morning the Kids tried to put on Music and it didn't work.  Videos from yesterday that I tried today were music.  The OH forgot it wasn't working and managed to put on a video from the channel 'Draw with Jazza'  and of course it worked.  I wonder if this new Youtube Music thing has something do to with it.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - dynamic2 - 2018-11-07

@Johnston  indeed same problem here i had the problem on 6.2.0 and manualy updated to 6.2.1 on krypton 17.6 but exact same prob

also had the problem when u watching 1080p streams when u skip forward or back that the video is playing but u get sound comes after +/-5 sec.. but thats had to do whit the "imputstream adaptive" if im right?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-11-07

@orabidoo
InputStream Adaptive is working, seeing low quality using it suggests a configuration issue.

@ILMostro
InputStream Adaptive is a binary add-on, in Kodi 17 the installation method varies.
I'm not familiar with the Arch eco-system, but I would guess you need to install using pacman.
The package name is likely either kodi-inputstream-adaptive-git or kodi-inputstream-adaptive
Then you will likely need to enable it in Kodi. Add-ons -> My Add-ons -> VideoPlayer InputStream

@Johnston and @dynamic2
See post #2 for 6.2.2, it's been submitted to official repository and is awaiting review.

@dynamic2
Yes, the ~5 second silence issue is with InputStream Adaptive in Kodi 17, it's resolved with Kodi 18.

Is there a particular inputstream adaptive addon version or settings to reduce this silence? I'm still getting about 2-2.5 seconds of silence at the start of each YouTube video (noticeable whenever I have several YouTube videos in a Kodi playlist) and during seeking. This has been happening for me on all the Kodi 18 beta releases through LibreELEC.

It's not a major issue, but is still a minor annoyance. Smile

Log just saying:  Open - error probing input format
 Having similar issue.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - orabidoo - 2018-11-08

Thanks, now it works: there were 2 folders in the addons directory and I deleted one of them  ; then another youtube.dl module interfered with inputstream.adaptive / mpeg-dash. Be careful what I install.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-11-09

@Doc_f11 Disable Settings -> Advanced -> Use YouTube website urls and Support alternative players if enabled. Will require a complete debug log (wiki) otherwise.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - drrak - 2018-11-10

Translator:
Request: I miss the "play audio only" option in the context menu.
Is there a chance that something like this will come in the future?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Tùng - 2018-11-12

kodi 17.6 do not play youtube,only play on kodi 18.Why?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-11-12

@drrak I will look into it.

@Tùng Working fine with Kodi 17 here, will need a complete debug log (wiki) to see what is causing your issue.
