RE: Disney+ - kuluba - 2021-01-11

Do we have a chance for dynamic selection and switching of the resolution/Bandwith depending on the quality of the current connection and better buffering?
Would mean less family support here.

RE: Disney+ - matthuisman - 2021-01-12

@kuluba
You could try setting the quality control to Bypass.
This allows IA to try to select the best stream based from bandwidth.
It's pretty basic though and doesn't change / adapt during playback.
That is a feature in the works though, but it's not something the add-on itself can really do...

@johiny
full debug log please.
Seems you have installed an incompatible IA version as well, so undo what you did there

RE: Disney+ - kirija - 2021-01-12

Hi, thanks for the great work, especially the Disney+ add-on.
I have an issue on it thought, some movies, such as Soul, are not decoded correctly, the Disney logo is fine and then when it's the movie it's a scrambled grey image (sound is fine thought). And as I said it's not for all the streams, for example the Mandalorian work just fine.... any idea ?

im working on a Video Addon based on Justwatch API that will act as a global frontend for all Services services that JustWatch supports. Therefore I would need an extension of your disney plus addon since I use this for playback. Justwatch only provides familyIds for playback urls. I've created an extension and i would like that you add it into your official build
@Hioctane  have you made any progress on this?

The log is here : https://paste.kodi.tv/gusemiyizo.kodi
A screen capture of the movie Soul, notice the "barcode scrambling" on the left of the screen : https://gyazo.com/a1c088eb45c7f2d1f100a9c3b9e6874c

RE: Disney+ - BrSandman - 2021-01-12

Installed the kodi addon on my box (an old chinese box). It works better than the app (720p instead of something worse), but I'm having problem to find the subtitles (the options are different than the options listed on the app). How can I fix that?
Is there anyway to run 1080p on a L3 device?

Thanks!

@johiny
"EXCEPTION: Unknown addon id 'inputstream.adaptive'"
&
"ERROR: AddOnLog: InputStream Adaptive: Unable to load widevine shared library (/userdata/system/.kodi/cdm/libwidevinecdm.so)"
You need to install inputstream adaptive.
You'll need to check with your OS on how to do that...
Also, go into Disney+ add-on settings > Playback > Install Widevine

@kirija
looks like you need a newer version of Inputstream Adaptive.
v2.4.5 or higher. It should tell you that.
Try installing this:
https://f.mjh.nz/ia/2.4.5.1-linux-armv7.zip

@BrSandman
720p is max for L3 device
Kodi 18 has an issue where it can only show some of the subs.
You can reduce which are shown by using the "Subtitle Allow List" in the Disney+ add-on settings > playback.

Wonderful, that was indeed the issue. I struggled to find an ISA-2.4.5 for the Pi but did not succeed so I thought it should not be the issue. Thanks a million !

RE: Disney+ - Insert coin - 2021-01-13

So with Kodi and a PC Windows 10 the best available resolution is 720p?

Ok it updatet and there is now no need for pkgutil anymore.

When I start a video the sound of the video works, but the picture is missing. There is only the whole screen in an color, the color changes every few seconds (red, yellow, grey, green, blue, pink and others)

Looks like the issue I had and which was solved by manually installing InputstreamAdaptive 2.4.5

RE: Disney+ - Kampfkugel - 2021-01-13

Is there a guide, how to do this?

From a few posts above : Try installing this:
https://f.mjh.nz/ia/2.4.5.1-linux-armv7.zip

Download it and then install add-on from zip in Kodi

Yes, Kodi with anything other than Widevine Level 1 certified Android device can only do up to 720p in Disney+ addon

You create a text file with this content:

plugin://slyguy.disney.plus/?_=play&_play=1&content_id=xxx

whereas xxx stands for the unique video id shown in the address bar when you watch content through the Disney webpage.

Save this as a .strm instead of a .txt file and give it a name that imdb, etc. ... will recognize when scanning into the library.
Got it. Thanks!

Given how simple it is to do this manually, shouldn't it be fairly easy to integrate an add to library feature like the Netflix addon has? Doing this manually was easy and didn't take too long for something like the Mandalorian but if I wanted to do it for the clone wars which has over 100+ episodes it would not be worth the effort.

I made a very quick and dirty php script to do it per season of an episode.

First save https://pastebin.com/5pXqEhgx as generate_strm_files_from_disney.php.

Then with a web browser browse the season page logged in to Disney+ and save the full web page to your harddrive.

The on the source run the php script like this:
Code:
cat filename-of-saved-html-source.htm | php generate_strm_files_from_disney.php

This should generate .strm files for that season in the current directory.

No warranty given and has only been tested with Mandalorian and on UNIX based OSes.
