RE: Disney+ - matthuisman - 2022-07-02

No, as it still won't be L1 widevine which involves hardware.

@QianyuLi

RE: Disney+ - andresrgv - 2022-07-17

hi there, any plans to add 1080p support?

RE: Disney+ - matthuisman - 2022-07-17

Already supports upto 4k for l1 widevine devices. If you aren't l1, then ask Disney Smile

Sorry for that, I know that you are tired to explain it. First many thanks for the time that you spend for this great add on (we will always appreciate you for that). But I have another question.

Netflix also require Widevine L1 for HD content. But Netflix plugin on first releases have the same problem (before CastagnaIT team, because original developer has stop to support it). Somehow, they find a way to manage it. Have you look on their code or contact with this team to see if there is an option to bypass it?

I have a Sony Google TV and I can play 4K HDR content, as matthuisman said this is because Disney require Widevine L1 DRM encryption compatible systems. Unfortunately, Windows systems does not support it (also you can’t play 1080p/4K from browser and this is stupid from Disney because many users use the browser for that). The only option to play HD content is from Disney app on Microsoft Store, but it was impossible to play correctly surround audio.
My basic problem on Netflx and Disney apps it that, surround audio and subtitle fonts (options are verry limited and awful).

RE: Disney+ - matthuisman - 2022-07-17

Disney limits their stream to 720p for l3 widevine devices. Simple as that. If you can find a workaround, PRs are welcome

RE: Disney+ - AntonyT - 2022-07-17

Thank you again. Of course, you know better than us and you have searched a lot to solve this limitation, but as Netflix wrote on their page “Widevine L1 is required for HD video in Netflix. “. That’s what I am not understand it.

Thank you very much for your plugin and support. I'm not very experienced with kodi. I have a Disney subscription.
I am using an android box. (Mecool KM9) I have installed the plugin but I have a problem. DRM info also shows widevine security level L1. But I guess this is a false value.
I can get sound from the Disney addon but the video comes up with a black screen. No picture even with low resolution. Is there any way I can fix this situation? Also can I change the widevine security level to L3? Is there a method? Otherwise, I will buy an original L1 licensed android box.
Thank you for your help.

RE: Disney+ - matthuisman - 2022-07-21

If you get me a debug log I may be able to add your system to my list of fake l1 devices.

You can also change the level in slyguy common addon settings. Change from auto to L3

RE: Disney+ - Mars51 - 2022-07-22

Good morning from Turkiye.
How do I look at the debug log? what is the way
last night i changed the security level from slyguy plugin to widevine to L3. I closed and reopened kodi. there was no change. audio service works but video still black screen Sad

RE: Disney+ - R.O.H.3000 - 2022-07-25

hi Matt, again massive thanks for making our dreams a reality. Not with one add-on but with all the major ones Smile

I have a (admittedly weird-sounding) question but I promise it does make sense:

Is it possible to search through the entire Disney (HBO/Hulu) catalogue for a movie/TV show - without the Kodi GUI - but only in Python?

Appreciate your help!

RE: Disney+ - matthuisman - 2022-07-26

@3000
You could try: https://github.com/matthuisman/kodi.proxy
Please dont ask for help with that though - its more experimental for users who can figure it out Smile
But basically it simulates Kodi without kodi in a cli interface

RE: Disney+ - Kravatak76 - 2022-07-31

@matthuisman  Hi, a strange error happens to me, after about five minutes of playback, the subtitles are suddenly duplicated. When I stop playback and start again, the problem disappears and does not appear again until the end of playback. But this happens every time. Is this a known issue or is this just happening to me? Thank you.

RE: Disney+ - matthuisman - 2022-07-31

What Kodi version are you using?
I suspect Kodi 20... Which is alpha
If I recall, the next version of Inputstream Adaptive for Kodi 20 should fix your subtitle issue
