Strange that it has something to do with Kodi, since in my case on Firestick 4K, double subtitles are displayed only in Disney+ and not in HBO-Max addon...

@matthuisman my annual Disney+ subscription just ended, so I replaced it with a monthly Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN plan. I am able to navigate the menus in Disney Plus, but when I try to play anything back, I get an "API request failed" "Server Error: platform.client.upgrade.required" Message I've tried logging out and logging back in, but this persists. I have not tried resetting the addon yet. Here is a debug log in the meantime:

For what it's worth, I was not able to login to your hulu addon with username and password, I had to use a device code. It seems to playback okay, though.
Edit:. Upon having a few minutes to reflect on this, the new subscription has ads whereas the old was ad-free. Does it need to be an ad-free subscription to be compatible?

I too am running into the PIN issue. Returns an error and no PIN is sent to my email nor is there any way to input a PIN in the addon. Disney+ app works fine on android devices so I know it's not a password/account issue.

If your Disney+ uses a pin, then I think you need to use the Hotstar addon.

I am in the US as well, but mine is not using the pin (yet). I don't think matt will be able to do anything about the new login until he has access to an account that requires the pin.

Here's a question for everyone having pin issues.
If you log in to https://www.disneyplus.com/edit-profiles then select the profile you're using.
Scroll down to an option marked "Profile PIN"
Have you enabled the pin for your profile?
If Yes, will it then resolve this issue in the Addon if you then turn Off the PIN option?
Just curious because I don't have any issues with a PIN and my profile has it set to Off.
If this is the case maybe the option available is to leave the PIN Off until matt can add functionality for it.

That's a different pin. Profile pins are already supported

While you're waiting for access to a pin account...
do you know if anybody has used this addon with ad-supported Disney+ in the US? It was working with the annual ad-free plan, but stopped working when I switched to the "bundle" which is ad-supported

v0.13.0 just released
- Support for new basic ad-tier logins
Looks like they use a new SGAI (Server Guided Ad Insertion) for ads which Kodi / Inputstream adaptive doesnt support.
But as far as I can tell, they just get skipped and playback is fine.
Let me know if there is playback issues
- Support Atmos and h265 for L3 widevine devices
still require a login that has 2FA enforced (email pin) to add support for that
