RE: Disney+ - Ronny3 - 2023-01-15

Hardware:
Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019
LG Oled 55B7D

As of today, watching movies/series in 4K plus HDR or 4K plus Dolby Vision works again...thanks matthuismann. Smile

Thanks for fixing this!

Question: I noticed that the SlyGuy common addon also has options to enable/disable H.265/HDR10/DV etc. How do these options work in relation to the same options that are present in each video addon such as Disney+ and HBO Max?

Eventually I want to do a new settings method where settings inherit the addon setting but can override the settings if needed.

For now, the addon settings do override the common settings. The common settings will be used for any of my other addons

Could someone summarize to me what is the big advantages of using Kodi vs just running with disney plus app on your tv?

The Advantages of This Addon
1) you can choose the quality and output of your stream
2) if the tv is older and does not HDR, or dolby vision but has UHD (and Netflix is able to stream in 4k) , the disney plus app will not allow you to stream in 4k.
This add-on allows you to select 4k HDR Stream and it will stream in UHD 4K (well it it work that way on  LG 49uf850v 2015 tv)

RE: Disney+ - MrMagic - 2023-01-17

@kizerage212 Other advantages:

- If you are a subtitle user, the subtitles that Kodi uses look so much better than those in the native app (the Android TV app looks especially horrible).
- Kodi will switch your display to the correct refresh rate (i.e. 23.976 material is no longer displayed as 60 Hz).

RE: Disney+ - kizerage212 - 2023-01-18

That is some good advantages. Will this work on a windows PC to play 4k on there?

RE: Disney+ - MrMagic - 2023-01-18

@kizerage212 No, 4K only works on devices with Widevine L1 level security capabilities. That's mainly only Android TV boxes /dongles with official certification.

RE: Disney+ - matthuisman - 2023-01-20

v0.13.4 just pushed which adds support for the 6-digit email OTP passcode that sometimes is asked for Smile

RE: Disney+ - Pienoet - 2023-01-20

What is the max resolution for NON L1 Android Devices?

I Have a ODROID N2 and i wanna know for sure before i install this addon.
Is this working the same way like the netflix addon?
bc the netflix addon is max 1080p.

RE: Disney+ - izprtxqkft - 2023-01-20

its probably best to make your own assessment as every device is different
