Custom Content Types? - khargy - 2020-04-29
When you add a new video source and then set the content type you have the following choices "Movies, Music Videos, None, TV shows". Is there anyway to add to that list? For example I'd love to have "Home Movies". Currently I use "none" for my home movies, which works ok, but I have no way to add metadata for my Home Movies in the system.

You can't add types, but you can add metadata by using NFO (wiki) files.

Thanks. As far as I can tell I can't get it to read NFO files when it's set to "none" and if I set it to "Movies" it'll read the file but it will then add it to the "Movies" section at the top level and I'm trying to keep these separate.

You can use custom https://kodi.wiki/view/Video_nodes to keep them separate. Create a new node for the home movies, and edit the default movie nodes to exclude the home movies.
