What do you mean "for now"? It's not the final fix?

- WiSo - 2009-03-26

It's just reverted to the state before. Arnova thinks since it breaks some stuff on xbox it might break it on win32 as well but apparently it was vice versa at least for now.

I'm compiling my own builds at the moment but I have a question...

When we are presented with:
"Found a previous Compiled WIN32 EXE!"

What do you guys do? Select 1 or 2? I suppose 2 is enough when we update our local copies from the SVN but I would like to know what you guys do...

When should we use 1 and when should we use 2?

Good question. I've tried 2 a few times and the builds worked fine, but I've noticed it's not really any faster at least in my usage. Therefore I just choose 1 and that way (from reading the description) I get a clean build.

Maybe the devs could provide a better insight on the matter...

I always use option 1. So far i understand it is a "cleaner" build.

Option 2 compiles just the necessary parts and the linker can take the previous generated object files.
Since often some header files are changed which are included almost everywhere you won't notice any speed improvement ofc.

Hey ikons,

I am having the same problem as in this thread with Vista and XBMC not connecting to the internet, but still being able to play networked files fine.

The solution seemed to be to grab one of Jester's builds, since he has the missing dll's which is causing my problem.

I am using build 18978 that you posted yesterday, which I guess doesn't include those DLL's.

Do you think you could include those dll's with your builds so that I don't have to go back to the most recent (and probably outdated now since Jester hasn't posted one in a while) Jester Build?

- ikons - 2009-03-30

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you copy the missing dll's in the system32 folder (msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll) you don't have to install this dll's every time.

Alternative you can install my builds over an old build. I do it a long time now and have no problems.
