azido Wrote:just did a quick check for the latest DX install and it reports as being 23973 as it should. must be something in the zip build. always get version number of the previous installed build, no matter if i use the updater client or just drop the zip manually. although the client itself tells the correct number in it's own display. the "old" version number also goes into xbmc log.
Are you sure? If I install gl or dx, zip or exe, it always displays the wrong version number in XBMC GUI and XBMC log.

well, i think i am able to read a five-digit number Wink

kricker,

seriously: could it be that your (dx) builds recently have more issues than just the version number display?

the reason i ask that is, i had some strange video overlay issues in your dx builds where on a given overlay window in dx the video went outside it's given restrictions (see this discussion with jmarshall about it). today i downloaded svn 24001 from http://sshcs.com/xbmc/ and that issue was "fixed". jmarshall said there were NO changes at all made for this! so, just to ensure all is fine in your setup you should maybe have an indepth look..

edit: if you like to ensure all is ok, do a build of 24001 dx and i'll compare it to the one i have.

Considering I build straight from SVN, I know I don't change them.
I'm building a dx 24001 for you now to check.

scratching my head on this topic, i still would like to get 24001 dx built by you to check/compare, if you have the time.
edit: thanks for that build to compare. we might have found what's causing the trouble.

it's nice to see someone else participating in the task of serving builds. but could you at least also do a zip build, if not also spending the extra time to do the gl build(s) as well?

i guess not all of us want to get through the process of doing the complete setup everytime Wink

My setups dont replace any files... you can run my setup, and it will replace only the files that have changes due to revision.
The GL build is erroring out ATM, I am fixing the issue...

Please be aware, if you're changing the source or buildsystem in any way, you'll need to make the changes available.

Thanks

yeah, as theuni said: "XBMC SVN Builds, with slight changes" is no really good description when it comes to tracking down possible issues.

FYI to all;
I'll be stripping PMIII out of these SVN builds after this next build. It just takes up space for something that really doesn't have much use anymore. There will be no swaying me of this except by devs, so don't waste your typing Wink

1/4 of the space saved for each download means a go, forest, go! from me Nod
