Kodi "Leia" 18.7 Release - ronie - 2020-05-21

Image

You may have noticed that we've adopted a RERO approach to Kodi - release early, release often. Our aim is to fix problems more quickly, and then get those fixes out into the wild equally as quickly. This might mean some issues escape alongside the bug fixes, but, overall, it should mean better software, sooner, and without the disruption of a major version bump.

So, with no further fanfare: another release in the Kodi 18.x "Leia" cycle. The usual rules apply: bug fixes, not new features or functionality; most will be invisible, but will be much-appreciated if you're been suffering from a problem we've managed to address.

Nice. I do thank you all for your voluntary work on Kodi.
But is it really RERO? The releases aren't very often.

I got distorted image / wrong aspect ratio on some (not on all) videos. Problem went away after downgrading back to 18.6. Is this a konw problem?

You can't, I believe the release was pulled. Just leave it on 18.6 and wait for 18.8... or 19 Smile

Hi from Athens Greece! I have succesfully downloaded in my new tv-box Kodi 18.7 some 3 weeks ago from Google Play Store but when I tried to update after some days my second tv-box from 18.6 to 18.7 the Google Play Store shows only Kodi 18.6!!! The same happens when I try to download kodi 18.7 from Play Store in my mobile LG V40 even today. This is not logical...The Kodi Team has any answer?

RE: Kodi "Leia" 18.7 Release - DarrenHill - 2020-06-08

The 18.7 for Android had some issues with certain specific devices. These were reported after the roll-out began, so it was suspended until they could be fixed.

This is why it reverted back to 18.6 on the Play Store and why 18.7 is not available there. Work is currently underway for a fix on those issues, and so a new release should be available soon on the store. It will probably initially be to the beta channel there, with the wider rollout following afterwards once we have confirmation that all is well.

In the meantime if you desperately need it for some reason, it can be downloaded from our mirrors and sideloaded onto your device.

RE: Kodi "Leia" 18.7 Release - Jaxom - 2020-06-09

Tried installing Kodi on a Windows 10 Laptop, I tried it on a previous Windows 10 install with no success and also just did a fresh Windows 10 install as well and tried again and still no joy, it has a lot of missing DLL files and will not work.  I can't find a version of 18.6, which would be perfect.  Any tips on how I can install 18.6?
