How are your TV shows sourced?  Can you post a MediaInfo for one of them?

What are your whitelist settings?

A debug log (wiki) is much more useful than a MediaInfo screenshot.

Also, the iGPU in the i3-8100 should be able to handle 98% of all the 'simple stuff', no need for an extra discrete GPU.

I don't know. I have my GTX back in my PC and it's connected to a HD TV (1360x768). I tried there and I don't have 1280x720, 23,976Hz available in this TV. I only could activate 1080p (60, 50 & 23,976Hz) and 720p (60 & 50Hz).

Should I activate all these settings in whitelist?

If you disable the 720p modes what happens - and yes a debug log would be useful?

And as others have said - any recent core-i series CPU with an iGPU should handle MPEG2, VC-1 and h.264/AVC at up to 1080p with no issues.  (Even Haswell Celerons as in the old Chromeboxes do that without breaking a sweat)

I think I've solved it removing from whitelist 1280x720, 60Hz. Now the TVShows 720p, 23,976Hz are played at 1080p, 23,976Hz. I hope this stops the freezes as well. If not, I quit.

That may explain it.  I guess Kodi prioritises resolution rather than refresh rate when choosing the correct whitelisted display mode? (I wonder if this is an option somewhere - lots of displays don't have a 720p24 mode, just 720p50 and 720p60, with 1080p24 the first 24fps mode supported)

According to the article I got the idea from, when Kodi doesn't found a resolution in the whitelist, it tries to choose the next one with the same fps. They also recomend not to whitelist 720p, 60Hz to avoid Kodi select it if 720p, 24p is not avaliable.
