problem using Kodi (linux-desktop) to watch videos on smart tv (using DLNA) - vahidb - 2020-06-17

hello

after selecting "play using" i can select my TV but then nothing happens. what am i missing? should i install some application on the TV? it is an LG TV (webOS)

For your reference: Kodi is not a UPnP file server at its core. But...

Videos can shared via UPnP/DLNA on Kodi, however they need to first be 'scraped' into Kodi's video database. That metadata will be then be shared to other UPnP/DLNA clients in the network, along with the video.
