RE: YouTube - HeresJohnny - 2024-09-19 (2024-09-19, 00:37)MoojMidge Wrote: While some operating systems have the default selection action in the context menu (usually first in the menu and bolded or otherwise visually distinct), many don't and it also not consistent across different applications. Kodi itself doesn't do this as an example. Please show me a single playable item where "Play" is not the first item in the context menu. (2024-09-19, 00:37)MoojMidge Wrote: The context menu for this plugin is already overcrowded with too many options, so I am not likely to add the default selection action to the context menu as it it a bit redundant and takes up space from the other options. If you want to play something from the context menu, you can use "Play (Ask for quality)" and just select the default/first item in the select dialog.Frankly, this sucks. On devices wih remotes which don't have letters, the context menu has to be navigated all the time and "Play with select quality" is inconveniently placed somewhere in the middle. At least put that on top, please. Also, Kodi supports "More" in the context menu. Play is the most important, put other less important stuff in the extended context menu which is only visible after navigating to "more". RE: YouTube - arsMOBILIS - 2024-09-19 Is anyone getting "No streams found" errors whenever they try to play anything this morning? Even YouTube videos I played yesterday evening with no problems are failing today. EDIT: Never mind... it's working again. RE: YouTube - know nothing - 2024-09-20 Some screenshot I get in different ordered to Instructions for creating an API key and OAuth credentials I seen some youtube video they don't show all steps. Still getting Code 401 error. Did try windows computer see if that made a difference. Anyone make files recent, something changed? RE: YouTube - powermarcel10 - 2024-09-20 Hi, I have to login again every couple of days. Is this known behavior? Or is this something I can fix somehow? You can easily check this yourself. The context menu that you are complaining about includes the default context menu at the bottom. What do you see? If you are using an older version of Kodi, you may still see an item for Play, in which case you probably won't like it if/when you upgrade. In other environments? You will have to satisfy your own curiosity for that, but suffice to say your opinion on what should be the first item of the context menu is not shared by many modern design guidelines. What you may consider to be important is not going to be the same as someone else, and I am not going to change the context menu to arbitrarily include or remove items until more involved changes are made that will make a number of existing context menu items, that already serve similar yet still distinct functions, fully redundant. Even then I won't be keen to add back other redundant items like the default select action just because someone has elected to not use the default select action. Access granted when logging it will periodically expire, but the plugin takes care of refreshing this for you automatically. If you have some network issues while the plugin is doing this, or the stored access token are removed then you may need to login again. A log will provide details of why this may be occuring. A video guide that doesn't show them all is probably old and out of date. Can you identify which steps you weren't able to complete or which are different compared to the instructions? Also, the Youtube plugin is the only one where I have noticed this specific bevaviour. So design choices don't really enter here IMHO since all of Kodi should show the same behaviour, again IMHO. I feel we have exhausted this point now since you clearly have your own views. If not for my sake, at least discuss your views with the team, please. Possibly the video was newly uploaded and the thumbnail details weren't available at the time? Have added some fallbacks if that was in fact the issue, will be available in next release. Let me know if you still see this happening after that. That is not what that option does... As I mentioned previously opening the context menu is not what should happen by default, however you indicated that you had set this up on purpose https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=356934&pid=3209865#pid3209865 If this is not actually what you have done and you need assistance figuring out why this may be occurring then you will need to provide your remote/keyboard config or a debug log as indicated previously. I have no strong views about it, except that I won't make arbitrary changes to something that has been like this for years, just to suit very specific/niche customisations. RE: YouTube - contremaitre - 2024-09-22 Hello, I am a new user of kodi. I installed latest version of youtube add-on, entered my API keys, but could not launch the add-on. It freezes for a few seconds, then kodi crash (it closes completly). I did not see any setup wizard RE: YouTube - contremaitre - 2024-09-22 (2024-09-22, 20:48)contremaitre Wrote: Hello, Here is the log : https://paste.kodi.tv/qefutokuxi.kodi RE: YouTube - klendool - 2024-09-23 (2024-09-19, 13:39)arsMOBILIS Wrote: Is anyone getting "No streams found" errors whenever they try to play anything this morning? RE: YouTube - know nothing - 2024-09-23 Moaning mode. Thanks for passed help but I just don't get it. Should work should it not! I never been so frustrated. Yesterday and todat rebuild Pi with LibeELEC. Followed all steps making API. Still getting errors. So rebuild again loaded YouTube from zip file didn't add any API or codes so should be a clean build. Again with error "caller does not have permission" wtf Libreelec version 12.0.1 should I look for a different OS or will there be same problems got dick about try make the Pi work. All I like to do is have YouTube subscriptions so don't have type them in each time. RE: YouTube - DJ_Izumi - 2024-09-24 Is there any way to backup the YouTube addon's watched status or not? I use MySQL, but recently I was 'converging' two UnRAID servers into one after I acquired a Netapp disk shelf. To cleanly migrate my library, I exported it as a 'Single File', then did a word replace in a 400mb XML file to swap in the new file locations, blew away the SQL DB so it'd be blank, and reimported the library from the modified XML. As a consequence all YouTube addon watch status was lost since that's not sorted in library exports. This is not the end of the world, but for future reference, is there some way I could have preserved the watch status of the YouTube addon? RE: YouTube - scott967 - 2024-09-24 (2024-09-24, 18:21)DJ_Izumi Wrote: Is there any way to backup the YouTube addon's watched status or not? Exporting the library will bring playcount/resume point for library items only, not plugins or file items not in the library. I think the only way to make that happen is to create stream files for each plugin video path and add those to the library. https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:YouTube#Integration_with_STRM_files RE: YouTube - jbrid - 2024-09-24 I am getting a failed playback error on certain videos. I have not noticed a pattern to it. I am on Ubuntu 22.04 and Youtube v7.0.9.2. Here is a debug log showing the error: https://paste.kodi.tv/raqudopoxo.kodi Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
