Emby did not output lossless audio or Dolby Vision on the Ugoos AM6B Plus.

Are these kodinerds patches being merged in official Matrix rc's or no plans for that yet?

If you have an Android TV, you can install a Maven's Kodi-Builds.
On my Sony XH9096 I used an "armeabi-v7a" version and works great.

Bye!

RE: Kodi Android build with support for Dolby Vision MKV - selfcontained - 2022-08-11

I have an nVIDIA Shield TV Pro (2019) model running Shield Experience 9.1.0

I'd like to specifically try a build of 18.9 "Leia" that has the latest backports, etc. that will properly play DV HDR profile 8.1 & profile 5 in mkv & mp4 containers.

I cannot seem to find a maven or any other Leia build for the shield pro 2019 that does this.

Any help will be most appreciated.

Hello everyone. First time poster here. Anyone getting dolby atmos output from a Sony Android TV using the maven builds? I get the correct output using the stock 19.4 kodi build. The dolby atmos output doesn't work using any of the armeabi-v7a maven builds. Passthrough checkbox is checked in kodi. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Speaker: Sonos Arc + One SL

Resolved! I had to enable export mode for the other audio modes to show up.

No rw or ff without movie quitting.

Edit: pacific rim uprising froze after 20 minutes.

Ae you getting HD audio (TrueHD+/-ATMOS and DTS-HD)  using this combination (Minix U22+ Ugoos FW)?
I saw somewhere a complaint about the Minix not being able to output HD audio, but that may be a problem of the stock player/Plex and is fixed by the Ugoos FW+DV Kodi builds.

RE: Kodi Android build with support for Dolby Vision MKV - dm12 - 2022-09-22

Hey, I have a nvidia shield and the last Matrix build you download from the store.

I have stutters and freezes when playing a DV .MP4 file and I don't think it even loads .MKV (I would have to retest this).

The first post says DV should play fine in the Shield. Am I using the wrong build?

RE: Kodi Android build with support for Dolby Vision MKV - MrMagic - 2022-09-23

@dm12 Yes you are using the wrong build.

The official Kodi builds from the Play Store do not support DV in MKV files. The build in this thread does, but it's quite old and no longer maintained. For up-to-date Kodi builds with DV-MKV support you should look at Maven's KodiNerds builds:

Last couple builds from maven does not play dv for me with android tv. Hiccups and not watchable at all.
Using 32bit build on it.

Which device are you running Kodi on? And which version of Kodi? Nexus Alpha or Matrix?

On my Shield Pro 2019 the 64-bit version does not have hiccups with DV MKV files. I'm currently running Maven's 20220922 build.

Only thing I did notice is that when resuming a movie instead of playing from the beginning, there is stuttering, but that can be fixed by jumping back 30 seconds.

EDIT:

I just tried Maven's 20220924 32-bit build on my Philips TV with Android and that works fine too.

RE: Kodi Android build with support for Dolby Vision MKV - borygo77 - 2022-09-25

Tcl c825, it could be my device build.
I might try to install from scratch as it was updated several times already.

RE: Kodi Android build with support for Dolby Vision MKV - chrisssj2 - 2022-10-02

So i have installed the latest 2022 build of kodi (net.kodinerds.maven.kodi20.armeabi-v7a-202210010256-b4441745-Nexus.apk) which should enable dolby vision playback if I understand correctly.
I downloaded several test files with profile 5 and 8 dolby vision tracks.
Is there anything i need to do in kodi options to enable playback, or should it play it out of the box?

Because if I play back the files I get greenish video, which also happens if you try to play DV content on your PC without DV turned on. So it seems it is not turning on?
