Some flags do not appear - Dom61 - 2021-06-03 Good morning Use Kodi Matrix 19.1 and I have a problem that I was never able to solve even with previous versions of Kodi. The problem is the correct display of the flag relative to the Aspect Ratio, all archived movies have the flag at 1.78: 1 and I never managed to solve this problem. Instead in other films the Flag Studios do not appears. I tried to change the file title with this: SPECTRE (2015) 2.35.1.4K.10bit.HDR.mkv But the correct aspect ratio does not appear For the "Studios" flag that does not appear in some films I don't know how to solve.. Some idea? Thank you RE: Some flags do not appear - jjd-uk - 2021-06-03 The rip probably has the black bars included in the video so Kodi reports the dimensions of the video stream including the black bars. What does MediaInfo report for those files https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline RE: Some flags do not appear - Dom61 - 2021-06-03 (2021-06-03, 13:16)jjd-uk Wrote: The rip probably has the black bars included in the video so Kodi reports the dimensions of the video stream including the black bars. RE: Some flags do not appear - Hitcher - 2021-06-03 Yep, exactly as jjd-uk said - the black bars are encoded in the video. Also, there's probably no way we could include a flag for every studio out there. RE: Some flags do not appear - Dom61 - 2021-06-03 So there is no solution for this file? They are MKV Bluray UHD 1: 1 filesI also tried to change the title of the ES file: SPECTRE (2015) 2.35.1.4K.10bit.HDR.mkv But with a negative result. RE: Some flags do not appear - Hitcher - 2021-06-03 The aspect ratio is taken from the video file itself which, in these cases, is 16:9 or 1.78:1. If you want to remove the black bars - https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+remove+black+bars+mkv&oq=how+to+remove+black+bars+mkv&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i22i29i30.9752j1j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 RE: Some flags do not appear - Dom61 - 2021-06-04 Thank you for the information, but I want to avoid making re-encoding of the file. I have a 21:9 monitor where the 2.35:1 video aspect excels, so where necessary I do remove black bars, as well as polish up the video in terms of brightness/contrast and sharpness along the way. RE: Some flags do not appear - Dom61 - 2021-06-04 I did some tests in no-recode mode. Via MKVToolNix I set the aspect ratio to 2.35 I get the correct flag. Mediainfo Video: Video ID :1 Formato :VC-1 Profilo formato :Advanced@L3 ID codec :V_MS/VFW/FOURCC / WVC1 ID codec/Suggerimento :Microsoft Durata :50s 92 ms Bitrate :21,7 Mb/s Larghezza :1.920 pixel Altezza :1.080 pixel Rapporto aspetto visualizzazione :2,35:1 Rapporto aspetto originale :16:9 Modalità frame rate :Costante Frame rate :23,976 (24000/1001) FPS Spazio colore :YUV Croma subsampling :4:2:0 Profondità bit :8 bit Tipo scansione : Progressivo Modo compressione :Con perdita Bit/(pixel*frame) :0.437 Dimensione della traccia :130MiB (97%) Default :Si Forced :No But I noticed a distortion problem of aspect ratio with the internal player of Kodi: If instead via the ability "playercorefactory.xml" file the external player (MPCHC-BE) the Aspect Ratio is correct. I don't know if this player who has the correct setting, but I put it by default. Can you act on some stove settings the internal player of Kodi features the same way? Thank you RE: Some flags do not appear - Hitcher - 2021-06-04 By doing that you're now telling Kodi to play the film, including the black bars, in that aspect ratio which will result in a squashed image. You're either going to have to re-encode them to remove the bars or put up with the correct flag. Thanks for the explanation. RE: Some flags do not appear - jjd-uk - 2021-06-05 You can create nfo and add the video portion only dimensions to the stream details section to get correct aspect flagged.
