Installing Kodi 18.9 on Xbox Series X? - Maier - 2021-07-17
I wanted to find out if it was possible to install and stay at Kodi 18.9 on the Xbox Series X. Getting one soon, but worried it will only run version 19, which does not work with a lot of add-ons since they have not been updated for the newer version. Could not find any information relating to this anywhere, or if there was any way to downgrade from version 19 to 18 on the Xbox. Even a link to this information would be greatly appreciated.

19 isn't available so your good.
But 18 has bugs, 4k video will crash kodi after a few minutes.

As of today the regular Kodi Xbox app is LEIA - v18.9 (18.9.0) Git:20201023-0655c2c718 (2020-10-24).
My Xbox Series X is my only way to watch an mkv file at 4K hdr 120Hz. Playback speed control is absent from Kodi Xbox 18.9.0, no matter the skin, afaik.
I hope 19 prevails 🤞🏻. Tyvm to those that develop Kodi and the Xbox app.

It's possible to install Kodi 19 in Series X trough the Dev Mode, but you are going to spend a few bucks.
In my experience, most of the add-ons are working in Kodi 19.

Hey is there a tutorial on how to do this? I’d love 2 if it means I can use kodi 19 and stream 4K movies and such! Please contact me 🙂
