[Solved] Jump forward/back buttons no longer working - FreeMan xbmc - 2022-03-05
I'm running Kore 2.5.3 on my phone and Kodi 19.3.
The up/down and left/right buttons on the remote screen have stopped causing playback to skip forward/backward. The fast forward and rewind buttons still work just fine, however, it's a bit of a pain to jump through commercials. This started around the beginning of the year.
In Kodi settings, the Skip Steps are still set at the defaults from -10 minutes through to +10 minutes.
I've looked through settings in Kore and don't see anything that obviously screams "disable", so I don't think I've changed any settings there.
Is anyone else having an issue with this?
What trouble shooting steps can I take to figure out what's happening?

However, the solution there was to enable the "Allow remote control from applications on other systems", and I already have that enabled on Kodi.

It seems the Event Server was disabled again. It took a couple of tries getting it to stay set, but it finally did and now the skip buttons work again.
