Why is Kodi not suspending the Windos Power Management if ... - _Michael_ - 2022-03-30

... the add-on 'DVBViewer' delivers a radio stream? But it does suspend it if 'DVBViewer' delivers a TV stream!
I aksed already here (link) about the source of this problem and the answer is:
  • Kodi is handling both tasks different and not the PVR add-on.
If this is not a bug: Which purpose has this different power management handling? It counteracts one of my main Kodi use cases (link).
I would be really happy about a solution.

I found a workaround:
With the tool EventGhost I was able to introduce two macros 1) 'Kodi on start' and 2) 'Kodi on exit'. If a related event gets detected, then macro 1) or 2) will automatically run. Each macro will execute such a windows shell command

powercfg /setactive <GUID_number>
This means a dedicated windows power plan will be set to active -> I made an A) 'Balanced-Kodi' power plan out of the existing B) 'Balanced' power plan.
A) will be used at 1) and B) at 2).
In power plan A) I deactivated the 'suspend system' timer and now my Kodi listening radio sessions get no longer interrupted by Windows.
