Hi @nonJon.  Looking at Kodi developments for Omega, it looks as though there will be skin implications for the changes that involve video versions.  Have you received any communication from Team Kodi regarding what changes will be needed?  I am very hopeful that you are still onboard and able to update a fantastic skin to be current!

Change the whole 3-rd line to
xml:




    <import addon="xbmc.gui" version="5.17.0"/>
(or change only 16 to 17 in this 3-rd line)
in addon.xml file and skin will be works in Kodi Omega again Smile

The file is located in %appdata%\Kodi\addons\skin.quartz  in Windows.

From everything I have read, if you do that, you wind up with a working skin with a non-functioning "Favorites" which is one of the actual changes that need to be made in the skin.

That's correct, all you are doing by changing the gui version is fooling Kodi into loading a non-compatible skin.

Sorry, I didn't know about that.
I'm not a professional programmer, just an amateur hobbyist.
Personally, I use this skin because I like it very much, maybe because of its minimalism, so I decided to share with others what can be done until the author fully adapts it to the Kodi Omega version.

You can also try my "mod" - I proposed a different arrangement of the screen space - I increased the right side at the expense of the left one, added cooperation with a script that automatically suggests ready-made phrases (script available in the official Kodi repository), and updated some badges and added new ones - all attachments on the author's website (one post above).

Actually I'm with you on that. I love the simplicity of Quartz. I wish someone would take it over and get it updated.

I'm currently using Amber, which an individual on the forums "mikeSiLVO" made a Omega version.
(He made it clear though he really doesn't want to be the maintainer.)
Amber is pretty nicely customizable, and clean.

I've added missing DialogColorPicker.xml and MyFavourites.xml
So now, Favourites is functioning and also You can set color of subtitles in Player.

I cant seem to get this one to work.

It lets me install from zip but I never get the "Do you want to keep this skin".

If I get some time, Ill try again with some debugging turned on. I might not be able to get to that for a few days.

For now I'm pretty happy with Amber.

Because it's not installer version - You have to manually copy files from zip to install folder of the skin.
But now I understand your point.
