RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - izprtxqkft - 2024-01-22 strictly opinion, if there is concern of users mistakenly using these on production builds and messing things up then just make them advanced settings only like the rest of the settings average users shouldn't touch RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - quietvoid - 2024-01-26 I've made a new version that supports all possible HDR10+ cases. Unfortunately it's a quite larger patch: https://github.com/quietvoid/xbmc/commit/18da398112d94ccb517813f8110a9742747a73bb I don't think I can find ways to refine it myself so I plan to open a PR this weekend. As it turns out there is existing code to parse SEI in BitstreamConverter.cpp except it's specifically AVC/H.264 only. So I reimplemented HEVC SEI parsing as I've done for my other projects but in C++ this time. RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - theo08 - 2024-01-26 thank you so much @quietvoid for this kodi fork coming from a CCGTV i switched to the fireTV 4k Max bc it supported DTS/Dolby:HD passthrough..... only to learn that Amazon screwed up DV playback (why can't these multi billion dollar companies release products that _just_ work T_T) anyway after a lot of trial and error and staring at blank black screens while DV videos were playing on kodi i finally found this fork. disabling HDR10+ did the trick for me. Videos mostly affected in my case are Code: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2094 App 4, Version 1, HDR10+ Profile B compatible anyway. thanks again! and i hope this feature (disabling metadata) makes it into the official kodi RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - quietvoid - 2024-01-27 PR: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/24584 I'm in the process of building another set of APKs with the reworked HDR10+ code for testing. It will be based on Kodi master and not the latest Beta. I tested manually with existing sample files as well as one with the rare HDR10+ cases. Old build: doesn't play. New build: plays. RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - boboc - 2024-01-27 Thank you very much for this. Kodi build server automatically builds each PR. Direct links to Android APKs built by Kodi build server (they are based on Kodi master): PR24584-arm64-v8a.apk PR24584-armeabi-v7a.apk Note: these builds have default Kodi package id and will install over normal Kodi app. Make sure to have a backup of Kodi settings, library etc. RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - Amjak - 2024-01-28 Thank you so much for your build, for samsung tv owners this fork is a must. Your newest version that was released yesterday, runs much faster on my Amlogic s928x-j soc, and the scrapping is much faster RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - theo08 - 2024-01-28 (2024-01-27, 23:18)boboc Wrote: Thank you very much for this.thanks. should those links lead to a download? either i am too daft or the link is dead RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - boboc - 2024-01-28 Yes, they should but I guess the build has outdated because the PR was updated. You can find the latest build of the PR by scrolling to end of the PR page, then in the box just above of answer field there is a text "All checks have passed" and a link "show all checks". Click on the link. Then you'll see text "You're awesome. Have a cookie" and a link "Details" at the right. Click on that link and you'll be navigated to Jenkins build page for this PR. Click on the link for your platform: "android-arm-docker (android-arm-docker)" for Android 32 Bit or "android-arm64-docker (android-arm64-docker)" for 64 bit. Another page will be opened and at the beginning of the page you'll see a link to apk. RE: Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - fritsch - 2024-01-28 Congratulations to @quietvoid and the entire community. The compatibility settings were just merged into kodi's master. They will be available in mainline starting with tomorrow's tonight's nightlies. RE: [obsolete - now in nightlies] Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements - quietvoid - 2024-01-28 Cheers. I've updated both title/body of the forum post to reflect this. There should be no more need for this custom build now.
