fire tv vs shield tv vs other boxes - nicovon - 2023-02-15 How would you rate your experience with using Kodi on Fire TV devices? would it be better to use an android box like SHIELD TV? RE: fire tv vs shield tv vs other boxes - MatteN - 2023-02-15 Fire OS is based on android. I do not believe I was looking for an opinion based on the experience you have had using firetv and/or android box RE: fire tv vs shield tv vs other boxes - hdmkv - 2023-02-15 Both are solid choices, assuming for Fire TV, it's the latest Cube 3 box. Both have ads in their UI's, but Fire TV's is really cluttered w/them. But, you can remap buttons on the remote to launch Kodi w/a button press. I finally gave this a shot, and it took 10 minutes total to remap 3 of the buttons to apps I actually use! So cool, thanks for linking to it. I get imense satisfaction clicking the Netflix button and having Kodi launch instead RE: fire tv vs shield tv vs other boxes - izprtxqkft - 2023-02-17 (2023-02-17, 15:17)Roby77 Wrote: asap a firmware with afr will be released homatics pro 4k plus will be my first choicestill seems like a steep price for a mali g31-mp2 thats 5 years old, compared to the cube gen3's mali g52 and reduction in price (as low as $100 on sale, $125 otherwise) even the gen2 has a amlogic 922 with a g52 - https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/device-specifications-fire-tv-cube.html?v=ftvcubegen2 i might be curious about the L1 widevine difference, cube gen3 specifically states "L1 v11" and its about the only time ive ever seen the v noted, not even sure what it means homatics s905-x4 - https://gadgetversus.com/processor/amlogic-s905x4-specs cube gen 3 specs - https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/device-specifications-fire-tv-cube.html heres a nice data set - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mali_(processor) RE: fire tv vs shield tv vs other boxes - ontap - 2023-02-17 @Swimfan02 Good post , guess that is as near as you are going to get without an actual "kodi only" device. I just bought a Beelink NU59 , intending to run kodi from a usb , but it has 16gb ram and seems like a waste , will have to look for something with less ram. hahaha. I have FTV devices but the bloatware on the home screen sucks.
