Is there anything better than NVIDIA Shield TV to watch videos made by me? - FoxADRIANO - 2024-11-30

Hello,
unfortunately the old NVIDIA Shield TV 2017 broke.
I know that today there is the Pro model. Since I have to buy a new one, I ask if there is anything better than the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro.
I do not watch TV but I would like the best video quality that can be obtained. I make documentaries with professional equipment.
Is it better for me to buy NVIDIA Shield TV Pro or something else to read videos well, but from a Hardisk and not from the TV?
Thanks for some info.

Yes - and @FoxADRIANO - I'd recommend only buying something that works out-of-the-box for your uses - not something you have to install CoreElec on.

To be honest if you are comfortable with the Shield TV user interface and connectivity - it might be worth replacing it with another one - as you know how to use it with external hard drives.

@FoxADRIANO, I also shoot a lot of home videos, but mostly using my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I use a 3rd party app & shoot in high bitrate HEVC with Dolby Vision & PCM audio. nVidia Shield remains the best playback device for this purpose, w/Fire TV Cube 3 coming second.

the interface on shield is actually a generic android tv launcher so any generic android will suffice
the drive connectivity is not though
independent research on any device considered would be needed -as it always is
