03-04 SVN rev18221 - Issues - cold_realms - 2009-03-06

Is anyone else having issues with fanart in TV Shows section while using File view? This problem creeped up in the last build too but this build it is totally hit and miss....

The last good Build was 17349. After that fanart when to hell Sad

Need more details... "Issues" is simply too general...

Your lucky to even get it working at all it works at first but on next reboot it slows to a complete crawl making navigation impossible i even tried revision 18296 from http://www.sshcs.com/xbmc/?mode=BN
And that does exactley the same. sorry for hijacking the thread, will post a debug log assuming i can get back into my system.

Have you tried different skins?
MS and latest builds don't seem do get along, atleast on my xbox Confused

The issue is that fanart only displays for about 30% of the shows, when it doesn't display it simply is a black background. (they all have working fanart under the 1-25 build). Oddly it's a DIFFERENT 30% every time. Also as long as the sub folder does not have fanart if i navigate inside then back out the fanart is there..but only for a little while, if i navigate away it will sometimes be there..others not.

What skin are you using? And a debug log would be nice too...

Same problem with all dam skins even with the default PM3 skin have wasted a lot of time
trying different builds from various sources and I finally went back to 17349
I will not be upgrading in the future it's not worth the hassle.

yup same problem as above if you watch a film or go in and out of a film the fanart take an age to show again also like half my films don't show fanart even though its cached on the hdd so i went back to Rev16903 as this works great no problems fixed the settings bug my self.

as i keep saying after Rev16903 the shit hit the fan stuff started going wrong on the xbox most of it was fixed but it seems to me as if the fanart side of things still isn't working 100% as fanart takes longer to show it all seems slower then it doesn't show most of the time or with the PM3-HD skin it shows the shark background for half my films also after Rev16903 films started to stop at random intervals and i mean random some work fine others just stop and i have to fast forward to where i was then i can watch the rest this happens more and more in the newest builds Revisions.

all my media is on a Windows PC using SMB.

No point in whining when none of you provide debug logs...

I have in previous threads but none got answered also the video thing happens randomly so i would have to have debug on all the time i may do this later tonight for the video thing.

will rebuild the newest SVN and get a debug log up later tonight when kids and wife goes to bed.

Movies not working for me either on latest build..
On the log, the last attempt caused a crash.

I did manage to open an AVI file earlier but the usual skip buttons were all not working too.

Hi Arnova, I tried rev 18221 yesterday and had some problems.
Mediastream skin won't run properly.

Here's debug log.
http://her0in.com/pastebin.php?show=m3674be7e

ERROR: Out of memory loading texture:
This seems to be the problem.

Edit:
Did first try with my own userdata, debug log is created with default userdata.
So there isn't any fanart or backgrounds present that take down the memory.

- arnova - 2009-03-07

Mediastream just takes up too much memory, there isn't much I can do about it. I'd suggest using another skin on Xbox....

- Waffa - 2009-03-07

I know it takes a lot off memory but it runs great for me on the 25/01 build.
Have a lot of fanart and set weather fanart all in 1280x720.
I know that I'm on the edge and I can easily go over it, but I know my way around and know what to do, to keep it running smootly. Thats why I don't use custom background folders = overkill.
But the debug log I posted was even with a clean userdata.
It looks like xbmc won't load anymore if it sees that the memory is low and this happens quick on the xbox. Were there changes in xbmc that could affect this ?

- arnova - 2009-03-07

Could you check how much memory XBMC consumes (or has available) while running the 24/1 version?
