Spanish language - drclone - 2010-01-10

This is the spanish language file for Ember Media Manager.

Maybe need a last revission, but it´s complete at 99,9%

Guys, I have a question.
Are these all the files needed to show Library correctly on a system that stores all movies in "I:\Movies\<movie name> (YEAR)\<movie name>.avi"?

<movie name>.avi
<movie name>.srt
<movie name>-trailer.mp4
movie.nfo
fanart.jpg
movie.tbn
folder.jpg

Is the folder.jpg necessary to show thumbs on folder in File View (not Library mode)? Or will XBMC use the movie.tbn as thumbs for the folder (not just thumbs for the movie.avi)?

Second question:
What's the easiest way to delete the cached thumbs on XBMC and tell XBMC to use only the files found on the folders? (does simply deleting the source and re-adding them suffice?)

Third question,
with my settings, what's the best way to set my XBMC scraper?
I know for sure that I have to Set Content to "Movies", select IMDB or TMDB scraper.
But what about the "Scan recursively", "Exclude folder from scans" and "Folder contains a single video"? These Option's not very intuitive for first time users.

or must I rename those files to <movie>.nfo/.tbn?

JackieBrown Wrote:I did a rescrape for all my movies and it buchured some my titles.

For example:
"Lion King" now reads "El rey león"
"Spiderman 3 now reads a 3"
"Highschool Musical 3" now reads "H.S.M. 3"
And here is a wierd one Star Trek reads "Christa & Christan's Big Adventure" but the plot summary is correct. The folder name is Star Trek (2009)
Any ideas on how to fix this? All the other information looks good (plot, summary, etc)

I'm guessing you have the force title language feature enabled. If so, I've already fixed this. Wink To fix them manually, you can just double-click or right-click and hit "Edit Movie" and change the title there.

Thanks! I'll add to the add-ons downloader.

EDIT: Or not. lol Says their servers are overloaded and want me to create a premium account. I'll try again later.

1> Yep, you have all the files you need. You don't need to name them with the <movie>.ext scheme because they are in separate folders and XBMC looks for movie.ext first anyway.

2> I'm not 100% sure, but I think you do need the folder.jpg for files view.

3> You don't even need to delete the source. You can just set the content to "none" to clear it out, then back to movies and update the library to refill it.

4> It doesn't matter what scraper you select. XBMC will always look for local files first. Based on the example folder structure you posted, you don't need to enable any of those three options:

Scan Recursively is if you have movies in folders that are more than 1 level deep. For example:

I:\Movies\Kids\SomeMovie\SomeMovie.avi
I:\Movies\Horror\ScaryMovie\ScaryMovie.avi

And you set the source as "I:\Movies".

Exclude Folder from Scans means that when you update the library it WON'T read the selected folder. Basically it's for telling XBMC to ignore certain folders for whatever reason. For example, if you had a porn folder and didn't want it to scan into XBMC. Something like that.

Folder Contains a Single Video is pretty self explanatory. If you're adding a folder as a source that has one movie and nothing else. I really don't understand why this needs to be an option, though. If there's only one movie in the folder, that's all XBMC will/can scan. Why do we need to tell it there's only one movie?? *shrug*

Initiate XBMC update not working - Aldar - 2010-01-11

I'm having trouble getting EMM updates to XBMC. How exactly does it work? I have gotten EMM list of movies the way I want it, but when I click the "Initiate XBMC Update" button, it doesn't update XBMC. I have the IP and id/password setup right and web is enabled in XBMC. So if I rename a movie and rescrape it in EMM, how exactly do I push the changes to XBMC??

The update XBMC button won't add your changes, it will just add any new movies to you XBMC library. If you want XBMC to see your changes, you have two choices:
Find the movie you have changed, hit the 'i' key, select reload.

If you changed large amounts of movies and don't want to reload all of them individually, I have heard that setting the content type of your movie library to something different, then changing it back to movie should reload all of your movies.

I've been away from XBMC for a while but it seems like this is one of the better (best?) media managers however the last I checked it didn't support TV shows.

Does it support TV shows now? If not, what is the best manager for them?

- scrolling - 2010-01-11

No.

I MIP for my TV shows for now.

You're looking for options related to "fanart". If all you want is fanart for all your movies you can use Scrape Media > Missing Items > Automatic > Fanart Only.""

Checked a few moment ago but no result, it's just a matter to have The .Background like this:
http://forum.xtreamer.net/download/file.php?id=454

I could manage to get it once but then since I lost the right parameter and I can get folder, icon, poster; nfo etc etc where is this one!!..

Thanks

TV Support is being added now.... slowly but surely.

If you're looking for Ember to output a ".background" file, I'm afraid it doesn't support that. It will output fanart.jpg, <movie>-fanart.jpg, and <movie>.fanart.jpg. I tried to find some info on what xtreamer will support and couldn't find much. If it can use any of the 3 available naming options, just be sure at least one of them is enabled in Settings > Movies / Files and Sources. If it has to use a ".background" we can always add support for it.... just add a new feature request here: http://www.embermm.com/projects/embermm/issues/new with a link to some documentation on what files/formats xtreamer needs.

- flojlg - 2010-01-11

Thanks for your fast answer but ok it's for the xtreamer but I could have the "famous " .Background once !! and then I unchecked some option but I do not remember wich one...
Not to get a full powered file, just a simple as I have seen them was enough for me, as I could see it in this media player.
Both folder where i could get it :
Image
Image
Both was named .Background.bmp
http://www.mediafire.com/i/?ndym0zyiini
(for the exemple)
Thanks

Ember didn't create the .background.bmp (we've never supported that filetype or naming scheme) so I'm not sure where that came from. Is that the only difference between XBMC and Xtreamer: that the fanart image is named .background.bmp? Are the nfos and posters compatible already?

First of all, sorry for taking so much time to answer. "I was busy" ™ :-)

nul7 Wrote:We've thought about this, but have decided against it for one reason: we don't run the servers that this information is getting pulled from. It's not a problem for IMDB, but sites like TMDB don't have the financial backing to have huge clusters of servers. They provide a service for free, which greatly enhances the functionality of Ember and other media managers. I don't think it's fair if we take advantage of that and hammer them every time we scrape something. I've noticed one or two other media managers try to download every image at the same time, and don't think that's exactly fair/ethical. It's not so big of a deal when it's only one person... but we have ~4000+ users and growing. Imagine the load that would create on these servers. Besides, they ask that users of the API limit requests to no more than one per second... and that's just for retrieving the xml.

You are right, ofcourse, but I didn't clarify the way I had thought about it - hey, I've even fantasized about how it would appear graphically. Let me explain...

I mentioned "using multiple threads to gather info", but I didn't mean "all the thumbs from one site at once", "all the info for all the movies from IMDB" and such. I'd thought of taking it one movie at a time and asking at the same time for all its resources from multiple sources. Say, like quering IMDB, TMDB, OpenSubtitles.org and any other sites at the same time - opening ONE thread to each one, but at once. Not "ask for poster>wait>receive poster>ask for subs>wait>receive subs"... Get my drift?

And, in a perfect world, Ember would display the title of the movie it's updating at the moment and exactly under it entries with the status of each of its queries, one after the other, with an "Updating", "Updated", "Failed" right next to it. At the end, a window would appear with all "Failed" threads, asking the user to take some action: select one of multiple posters, recognise that there where no subtitles for the language he had selected and so on.

I hope I made myself a bit more clear this time, and sorry for not passing my idea more clearly the first time. Hey, I'm Greek, and English ain't my mother tongue, so... Sorry..! :-)

Appart from that, I realize I'd really, REALLY like to see another feature that I guess ain't that hard to implement - since you're already renaming files and folders: copying and moving files. If it is, I'm sorry for even mentioning it. But let me explain what I mean and why I'd like it...

Ember and XMBC don't care in witch folders I've got my movies. Other programs do. Thus, it's easier for me having thematic folders like, say, Thrillers, Action, Commedies and so on and putting my movies in there. It would be easier though if there was an automatic way to move some movies in some folders. Let's say I want to make a collection about Monty Python: instead of searching the movies file by file, folder by folder, or finding them through ember and then finding and moving manually the files and folders of them, it would be great if I could tick a checkbox next to some movies and then select "move to folder". Or something. Is that possible to add?

Best regards and, once more, congrats on an amazing program.
Ducklord

Both very good ideas. Please add them as feature requests on embermm.com and we'll definitely get them worked in (They'll probably be forgotten/overlooked otherwise). It may be a while though as TV support is getting my full attention at the moment.
