HI Guys,

I can't live without Ember anymore. Perfect tool. I am looking for one thing though...

I am looking for a setting in Ember that continiously scans for new movies in the imported shares, and automatically scrapes the movie for the library. I thought Ember had this setting, but I can't find it... Or am I confused with another tool?
If Ember doesn't have this: for the feature suggestion list? ;-)

Don't think it has a monitor feature...

But it does have some commands that you could run with task scheduler or something...

Only EMM Scraped Movies able to be found in XBMC - msderganc - 2010-08-24

All,

I've been having an issue lately and I can't find any other threads that apply to this (except some old ones from Xbox). I am running XBMC 10.5 (one of the recent nightlies) and the newest version of EMM.

For some reason, XBMC won't scrape or recognize new items in folders that have been previously scraped by EMM. For instance, my True Blood folder. It's a network shared folder physically, and had 11 episodes in it. XBMC would only recognize 10 of those (the ones that I had scraped from EMM). No matter how many times I scanned for new content, the 11th would not show. The second I scraped that last episode with EMM, XBMC found it.

Also, episodes/shows that have never been scraped by EMM are found successfully by XBMC.

I'm thinking that one of the EMM files lists all of the episodes and XBMC is just reading that file and assuming there haven't been any other files added. Is this the case? If so, how do I fix this or automate EMM to scrape TV shows on a schedule?

Thanks for your help!

@dandirk : Is it possible for you to post the svn build online where others can download it?

I would like to give it a go, but really dont know much about building software....

Hey batemann, I recommend you use Eventghost for what you want to do

http://www.eventghost.org/

Does exactly what you want to do.
here is a basic guide to get it running
http://lifehacker.com/5475649/set-up-a-fully-automated-media-center

Mine is tweaked a bit from that and works great. You have utorrent or dvd ripping software move/save all your movies to a specific folder, eventghost can watch for directory changes and then it can run Therenamer (to cleanup the movie filename), which in turn moves it to your actual movie library directory. As soon as change is detected in that folder you can command line run EMM to scrape it.

Send me a pm if you would like and I can send you my config file of eventghost, got it setup so it doesn't have false starts anymore (since EMM has a splash screen on command line, it can be distracting"

Yes, Is that something that can be removed?

Just follow the directions, the svn has some bugs as well, like not being able to change any fanart/posters. You have to delete the actual files and rescrape so you can select the specific ones you want.

Just make sure you install visual basic 2008, instead of 2010 (it has its own tab on the download page).

Supposedly on Emm forums it says you can using -nowindow, but hasn't worked for me. It sytill shows for like 3-5 secs then minimizes after that.

So not too horrible I guess

Ember always show Splash, even with the nowindow options. The options only hide splash before Ember start doing it's work, but after loading all settings/modules.
So in resume, Ember will always show splash, and I don't see any reason to change that. User should be remembered that are using Ember Nod

Actually, you can use Visual Basic 2010. The only difference is that, upon opening the project, VB 2010 will take you through a conversion wizard (doesn't change any files).

possible to scan movie/tv episode (like s02e02 is actually s03e01) information from xbmc database and change it there?

- sergiocos - 2010-08-29

Right-click on that episode in ember and chose 'change', chose the correct episode, then reload the tv show in xbmc.
Or, the easy way, just rename the episode s02e02 into s03e01.

Hi.

I might do this wrong and post this in the wrong place but I have an Issue.

I use Ember as media Scraper but in the new version (XBMC 10.5 Dharma) it seems that when updating the library XBMC does NOT check wich genres I would like to have or more importantly NOT have...

I have sorted my library so all childrens movies are in the Family genre and no where else, this makes it easy for my kids to find them and also keep them out of the way for everything else.

But when I re-installed xbmc with Dharma and updated the library XBMC seem to use the new internal standard scraper (TheMovieDB) and doing this it changes the name of some movies, adding and/or deleting genres, it seems to me that the only thing used are the local Posters, Fanart and trailers, maybe even the media icons and maybe the plot.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a fix?

Sincerly

//Talle

I'm having the same problem any suggestions on what I'm missing?

Thanks
