my ember still works. When you scrape, and it brings the dialog to pick the movie, the info that shows in the right panel is all messed up. But as long as I click the correct title, the rest of the program works great.

For some reason if I scrape for 'poster only', it chooses some "LOST" movie for the poster, for every movie. A full scrape fixes it.

What are people using as a replacement for ember? I am having the same problem as a few people where no fan art is showing up. I would like to move to a new program. I am running ember currently on my media server (its a Windows home server) but could run it on a regular windows system. Any suggestions would be great.

I have a different application as my host is a Popcorn Hour C-200 running off of a Netgear ReadyNAS Pro. I have YANFOE for the GUI, but it doesn't support TV. I then run the movies through YAMJ which can use your supplied info, or it can scrape. You just don't get a GUI like Ember to work on your database.

Since YANFOE doesn't support TV, I snooped around and found Ember, but based on my bad timing, it appears I am also going to have to continue my ventures elsewhere.

Xmm2 - The1JDC - 2011-01-03

XMM2 seems to be the best alternative. It's not open source but xyber provides great support so far.

Sickbeard (TV), CouchPotato (Movies)

XMM2 works great for TV shows! I haven't had much luck getting it to work for movies, unfortunately. Media Companion seems to do a better job for Movies though the user-interface is somewhat inscrutable and it crashes quite frequently...

this is so weird. I re-scraped my entire library in ember last night, and got fanart for almost every movie.

Why are people having problems? Why would it work for some but not others?

When I was looking for an alternative, I tried XMM2 and then Ember. Xmm2 wouldn't run on my system....crashed right away...I passed on it and tried Ember, and then this happened...guess I can try xmm2 again...see if it will work this time.

I scraped list night...other than Ember not knowing where my artwork and NFO files already were, it scraped and found a lot of them on the web. Worked with all my TV episodes, but not all my movies.

Indeed he has! Looking forward to version 3.

Media Companion is also another option:

i used media companion for my tv shows but cant figure out why it creates .info files instead of .nfo files. All my movies are already XBMC ready with .nfo files so I want something that will read those and then just let me modify or add to them.

32 bit folder... I have the new addon there, but it's not activated, and I don't think you can, because the activation part comes after the logon part...

You can download my addon from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?b130dvbk7iqsehy

There is no activation required (to my knowledge) - so long as the dll is placed inside the Modules directory, it should load up and be available for using as your main scraper (needs to be enabled in Edit -> Settings -> Movies).

In the meantime, I will try to find out what's happening with the website. Sad

Thanks Rogue...

Is that an IMDB scraper? I too had the problem with Ember not scraping anything.

IMDB plugin would show only messed up information and would do nothing when i confirmed the movie.

Ah, now I see it! Turns out I never activated it when I installed it weeks ago... just activated it, and can finally scrape just the rating/votes/top250 like I've been wanting.

Thanks Rouge!

EDIT - Is that mediafire link a newer version than was downloaded from within EMM when the site was working?

Can you please upload one of nfo files, for me to test it ??

Thanks
