Confidence Level, Ignore/Remove text...Huh um ok.

Can we concentrate on bug fixes and features that are *needed* or IMO essential like multi-scraper support for different languages ie Kinopoisk or... TV Shows section ....I for one can't wait for those features. Look for bugs, so EMM team can fix them and can be rock solid(which it already is btw) then request features all people want then essential features then request weird/crazy features like confidence level.

Then again its up to EMM team to decide. Sorry don't mean to come off like an ass - it's still early and i'm at work. =\

Once again amazing updates EMM team, keep up the great work.

No one is suggesting it should be top priority. The idea is to share information and collaborate, to build a better mousetrap. That's what I was trying to do.

I get the same bugs as you, and surely those are the priority, but I don't know why there would be anything wrong with sharing notes as they come up, and letting them decide whether they have any merrit.

And on the topic of TV show selection, the ignore/remove text goes directly to this feature -- it's a foundation to this, as much of TV is torrented and cannot be tagged without this very feature. And as far as TV being a priority over the things I mentioned, it's not my call -- but to dispense with other feature requests and label TV as a larger priority, I'm not sure that's an objective call.

rusten Wrote:Awesome info, thank you. Some additional notes:

* Regarding cancelling while choosing a metadata option: on my side, if I move the cursor 1 second after it starts loading (which would appear to be before the image loads) it still loads the former selection. Maybe it would be good to switch the cursor state and disable input, only while the image is loading, so that it doesn't confuse people? Not my own personal concern, because I'm now aware of it -- just trying to help with a suggestion.

* Confidence Level (feature req) I wonder if it would be valuable to have a confidence level icon next to each matched movie. For exaple, if the exact (or best)-match and the popular-match are different, that would be a low confidence level icon next to that movie. This way, "Force (best match)" searches could give some level of feedback to the user, where to focus their efforts.

* Rename (feature req) I mentioned this earlier, but I think it was missed. Is there already a feature I'm missing, or that is already on the wishlist, to rename the movie when it's different than the match (and if there is, the confidence feature would be that much more valuable, IMHO). If this feature does exist, will it work with .ISO's?

* Ignore/Remove text Has there been any thought to a filter that removes text based on a resource-file (could be a simple comma-separated .txt list). For example: 720p,1080p,XVID,AVC,etc. Where these can be auto-removed from the file name and ignored in the search? Is so, we could start contributing/building the default list. If this feature does exist, it would be great to integrate with the full name-cleaning (removing underscores, proper-casing, etc) and renaming feature.

Also, a couple new "support" questions:
* What does "OFDB" stand for, OFFLINE database? If so, this would be used by Ember *only* when OFFLINE data exists, otherwise it would go out to an ONLINE movie database, is that right?

* Tools > Sort Into Folders -- will this take all files with the same name left of the file extension (MyMovie.iso, MyMovie.tbn, MyMovie.nfo, MyMovie.?? ), create a directory, and move all of the files into that directory? If so, a bit OT, does this slow XBMC (rather than simply having a flat directory of .ISO's)?

Thank you in advance!

You can always add bug reports & new feature requests and add comments to existing ones here:

Ignore/Remove text for lookups is already in there: settings/general/file name filters. You have to use regexp here. Yes, it's not very user friendly at the moment.

Rename feature is requested and will be in the next release (some features of this already developed and in SVN).

Thank you for that -- I've moved this over there.

Regarding the Tools > Sort to Folders (comment above) -- so this will move everything matching the left of the file-extension, to a single folder?

- nul7 - 2009-06-25

Just to clarify, the name filters don't have to be regex. Wink

And yes, the tool to sort movies into folders does create a folder with the same name as the movie, then move the movie and all similarly named files into the folder. It converts a file type source into a folder type source. Folder type sources are the preferred method to storing movies for XBMC.

Did anyone with issues try this version yet?? If so, any feedback?? Need to know if the problems are fixed. Wink

nul7 Wrote:http://www.cube3studios.com/EMM/EMMTest.zip

Note, due to changes in this version, a new flags folder (and accompaniments) is required. It's best to delete (or move) the current flags folder and replace with the one in the package. Also, studio tags are no longer supported in this version. You may experience some whackiness with the media flags unless you update the media info. But keep in mind, if you use a skin that supports studio tags instead of native media flagging, you will lose that functionality.

Also, this version should (hopefully) fix the problems people were experiencing with scrapers.

EDIT: If you decide to keep this version, you can delete mediainfo.dll from the bin folder as it is no longer needed

Sorry... forgot that's for x64. I'll upload an x86 version.

EDIT: Ok, new versions:

Just to clarify, you mean the updaters are working for all your movies now, right?

- smcnally75 - 2009-06-25

Would it be possible for EMM to scrape for mid sized images (like it does in the fanart dialog) for extrathumbs if the movie is an iso image? I can do one movie at a time by rescraping for fanart, but if I rescrape all "Fanart Only" it only grabs fanart and doesn't assign anything to extrathumbs. And, when I try to rescan for extrathumbs only it just looks at the file and can't do anything with the iso images. Just a thought...I have no idea how hard this would be to implement.

Yes, the nfo files all updated properly.

This is already on the feature request list. Wink

Excellent. Thanks for testing and confirmation!

Sorry if this has been ask already but I have a lot of .iso movies that Ember use to read the media info but now it doesn't, only my avi files load all the right flags. Was this feature taken out of r449?
