xbmc crashes while opening a remote samba folder - tomek74 - 2009-05-17

I have added the Folder smb://tmac/500gb/Movies to my xbmc, which went fine.
When I try to open this mounted folder I see all my videos in it, but xbmc is crashing around 10 seconds later. With error 4.

CrashReporter.log: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/174193/
xbmc.log: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/174195/
OSX Version (10.4.9? AppleTV 2.3.1)
Appletv 2.3.1
Launcher 3.0 installed
Install Method - Launcher
Darwin appletv 8.8.2 Darwin Kernel Version 8.8.2: Mon Jan 29 18:57:29 PST 2007; root:xnu-792.94.18~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386

In xbmc.log I see the error: ERROR: Unable to find host: TMAC
This is strange, since I see all my videos in the folder which is opening nicely.

How can I support you finding the cause of this issue?

fun and games, more "postProcess_MMX2" crashes. Try turning off the de-interlacer.

also pastebin your sources.xml file.

Thank you for helping. Here is my ./Library/Application Support/XBMC/userdata/sources.xml:

I have switched on debugging. Here is the debug output of xbmc.log:
http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/174739/

debug CrashReporter.log
http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/174741/

I haven't found the de-interlacer settings in xbmc. I was searching in every settings pannel. Sad Could you tell me where I find it?

this might be fixed in http://trac.xbmc.org/changeset/20446

turn auto thumbnail creation off and see if this resolves the issue.

Sorry I am new to this whole thing. I have an Apple TV and it is doing the same thing. As soon as I try to browse to a folder while in Video or Audio it crashes with error 4. Everyone is saying to turn off thumbnails but I can't find out how to do it at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Settings > Video > Auto generate thumbs for...

Disable it.
