I'm getting 720p (3200kbps) streams on every program you would expect to have them.

You can just download the addon directly. It's quite good for such a fast release but expect bugs and it will probably be superseded in a matter of days.

When I download the .0.0.3 version and try to add it, XBMC complains that it is in the wrong format.
Also - is this working for the live streams? That is what I really need.

Loaded via the repository, and it loads ok, but fails when I select the stream.

hi you must be doing it wrong..

You should make sure you follow the instructions 100%

You need to install the repo from the zip file.
then leave that section and go to "get addons"
so go back to the main window
then click on system (not one of the options below it
then select get add ons
Then select the infinity repo
then you can get the iplayer.

as for the live streams

the 2.5.9 version we were using still works for live streams "well it works again today" it stoped working yesterday for a while.
You still cannot use it for catch up though, so use the 0.0.3 for the catch ups.

Yes, I did that.
The plugin is loaded.
It apparently partially works. It shows menus that enable me to select a program,
then goes to a menu of different feeds.

When I select one, I get "One or more items failed to play. Check the log for details."

In the log, I see this:

RE: [RELEASE] iPlayer - BBC Video and Music Plugin (UK only!) - PhilipPeake - 2014-11-02

Ok ... got it.

I have been using the old plugin with an "intelligent" DNS server.
That isn't working with this plugin. If I switch over to a VPN with a Uk address, this works fine - even the live streams.

I'm afraid my poor little Raspberry Pi really isn't up to running a VPN connection though...

Thank you, that worked a treat.

Someone says "enable the proxy in settings"

Thanks for the hard work on this plugin.

Does anybody know if the new one can also do the Radio stations?

Thanks

Thanks, it wasn't easy to find that url.

For live streams try the MX BBC Player addon, works a treat.

RE: [RELEASE] iPlayer - BBC Video and Music Plugin (UK only!) - lozbrown85 - 2014-11-03

BBC has not stated that they wont allow a a Niro API key for Kodi/XBMC.

I think we can agree that the API looks pretty achievable, so lets wait and see what happens when they open up the API key registration.

Whilst it's pretty lame to drop the old method with no warning when we can't even get keys to the API, you can't really expect the beeb to not make advancements to "defend" their content from copyright infringement. Offering an API for accessing their content is more than many of their counterparts do...

RE: [RELEASE] iPlayer - BBC Video and Music Plugin (UK only!) - speedwell68 - 2014-11-03

I notice that this morning that get_iplayer updated itself (I am using the Ubuntu PPA so it auto updates) and it appears to working properly. It takes much longer to download the feeds list, but it does and I can search for programmes in the GiPlayer utility. I don't know if this is the case on Windows.

RE: [RELEASE] iPlayer - BBC Video and Music Plugin (UK only!) - speedwell68 - 2014-11-03

Yep, just tested get_iplayer in the command line and using the GiPlayer GUI utility and it downloaded Eastenders perfectly.
