i have my 880 harmony remote setup with all the keyboard shortcuts described within this thread. however the pause function (space bar) does not work when trying to pause music, but it will pause a movie. this is not a remote issue, when i try to pause music with my keyboard space bar it doesn't work either.

it doesn't appear to be skin related. i'm experiencing this same behavior with confluence and pm3.hd

anyone else having this problem?

Hmm.., I have harmony 900 configured as suggested to MCE keyboard but it doesn't work for me Sad
When configured as MCE remote then it works fine.
Any pointers what to check ?

I too can't get MCE keyboard to work, but MCE remote does. I'm guessing the problem is that I don't have the right IR receiver. I'm using this one:

Anyone know where I can get an MCE keyboard compatible IR receiver?

My receiver works fine with RC6 remote, should it work with keyboard as well ?
Thanks

EDIT: Got it working, since I forgot to assign correct blaster to the device (using RF instead of IR)

Would this receiver work with the Harmony configured as an MCE keyboard?

don't know but this one works great:

i'm using the ir receiver that came with this remote along with my harmony 880

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880121003&cm_re=media_remote-_-80-121-003-_-Product

i've tried using the remote as a keyboard as described in this topic and i now have it set up as a wmc remote with eventghost.

it's seems i had all sorts of issues with the keyboard method... play/pause problems with music, context menu problems, etc...

the wmc setup with eventghost is far from perfect, but i can live with the few glitches it's giving me.

So just to verify before I buy this, you're able to set your Harmony to emulate an MS MCE keyboard and can assign any keyboard button to any button on the remote with this?

I see you have a Harmony 900. I have the Xbox Harmony, but I'm assuming it'll work the same as the 900, since the MS MCE keyboard is an available device in the Harmony software's database.

Yes, it works fine for me.

Ok. Bear with me here... I tend like to think I'm a smart guy that gets things, but for some reason my brain either is not working right now or I'm dumber than I think.

I have a Harmony 659 and a IR receiver that I am trying to get to work with an install of XBMC on Win7.

When adding my device in the Logitech setup, what kind of device am I choosing here? Computer? Media Center PCHuh I'm lost on the VERY FIRST STEP!!!!?!?!

Media Center PC. Then pick Microsoft. Then pick MCE Keyboard.

I have modified my lircd.conf and keyboard.conf and Keymap.xml several times in order to get other remotes working. I now have my Harmony 550 setup as MCE Keyboard, but fear that my .conf and .xml files are too far gone.

Can some one who is using a Harmony remote as an MCE Keyboard with XBMC please post the /etc/lirc/hardware.conf and /etc/lirc/lircd.conf files so I may replace mine with ones that work. Also possibly ~/.xbmc/userdata/Keymaps.xml

Thanks!

I have this one too.

Does it work?

Thank you

Hello,

Is it possible to Win7 64bits think that the Asus IR Receiver is a IR MCE Receiver?
Is there a driver that can replace the asus one?

It's because I would like to use my Harmony one as a MCE remote.

Thank you.
