I agree... There's been no updates on this thread for a while... Not even a 'hi guys... this is where I'm at! " and like i said "The goal is to create a complete, attractive and usable UI within weeks rather than months" is clearly stated in a preview of Alaska on aeonproject . It just seems weird.

and i really am sick of people saying " you should be grateful, be patient... blah blah blah" You people do realise of course we are very grateful for this, that's why it's so hard to wait patiently! lol and it's hard not to assume that it's come to a halt when there has been no comment from the creator in quite some time now.

Just my thoughts... Don't go getting offended and start flaming, people!

Before complaining about stuff taking time, please let me remind you all that what djh (and everybody else) is doing for xbmc is done in their spare time, no one is paid to do anything.

Sometimes real life just steps up and demands more of your time and you won't be able to dedicate anything to xbmc.

Probably something to be said for just doing the skin before getting everyone wet with excitement though.

I like getting skin previews, and I'm sure skin developers get a thrill from showing us their creations too. It's difficult to stop yourself from showing off something you are proud of.

Haha, sounds rude that does. But yes I understand what you are saying.

I got asked to do a stock take spread sheet for my business, I have to the end of the month of September but am finalising it now. I was keen to show it off at a managers meeting but thought I better check it on a few computers first.

Turns out the themes etc in 2007 do not translate in VBA to 2003 so the spreadsheet would not work in anything other than 2007. If I had gone showing off I would have looked a bit silly.

Like saying a skin that will take two weeks, 2 months ago Wink

Like everyone else, I am simply excited.

I'm back on this now.

EekBig GrinLaugh Thats great duncan! looking forward to any updates you may have to share over the coming days

Do you have any plans to implement the RecentlyAdded items?

- djh_ - 2009-09-01

Pfft. No idea at the moment. I have to flush my brain of all the real world stuff first, then bash together enough to get this thing released. But yes, in the always hypothetical world of that happening, I'm sure I'll look into recently added items, etc. XBMC occupies a much-reduced part of my schedule now, though, so I can only do so much.

If you don't have the time to implement recentlyadded, i'm sure someone will Smile

Just get the main body of the skin finished and polished and leave all the rest of the fluff to the community to mod in.

Auriga has been pretty much finished IMHO due to the work by Hitcher, Andyblac and the rest, while mostly sticking to the original design and spirit of what you first released.

BTW if you need a hand doing any bug testing PM me.

Great news Duncan.

And, yes, just get the basic working version out first, without all the bells and whistles... imo.

Smile

That's cool. I wasn't even sure if you'd seen this development.
