Hey Stolek5,

Wanted to drop a big thanks to you for posting that zip file. It really gave me a head start in putting the final touches on my music library that I finally finished organizing.

I just spent a good portion of the day adding in quite a few more icons that weren't in the list or on the Flickr site. It was a lot of google searching and Gimp editing to make the missing icons, but I finally got it all done.

The number is now up to 327 genre icons! Matching up to most of the Last.FM genres that I got when I used MusicBrainz to fix it all up. Some are modified versions of the ones on the Flickr site. Others were random images pulled from the web then tweaked to make a nice genre icon. I tried to keep the overall feel/look of the ones you posted and think they look pretty good.

Here's a link to the zip file for those looking to fill out their sets some more. Smile

Thanks alot! Just what I was looking for. These icons look stylish enough and it's pretty easy to guess the genre by the picture.

Anyone know how i can update my current skins icons to these icons?

I'm using Xperience1080, and the weird thing is when i had a browse around the skins addon folder i found a folder with 153 of these in it already!

I have no idea how to update the skin to show all these genre icons though. when i look at music genre in the skin, i see that most of the icons are the traditional black and grey icons but some of them are already the colour ones from this thread.

Bit confused as to how to update the rest.

Thanks mate, I managed to get an answer in the RELEASE thread for the skin. You were right but I also needed to edit one line of an xml file too.

Thanks for taking the time to post. i think the pictures in these icons are great but i personally prefer to have the name of the genre much more prominent in the images so its easy to see at a glance, for friends / family that use xbmc now and again.

Hi

I have some genres like Pop/Rock I can't name a JPG file pop/rock.jpg I tried poprock.jpg and pop-rock.jpg but my skin Aeon MQ4 doesn't pick them up, does these mean I will have to alter the tags in the music files?

normally if you want the genre in pop AND rock the tag is like this Pop / Rock (note the spaces between the '/' )
This allows you to have the music file in both genres
So the short answar is yes - retag all Pop/Rock genres to Pop / Rock
