I figure I'll ask while I'm at it. Is there really any point to having an excessive amount of providers? Mostly is there much point to having 4+ nn providers? Is it actually less beneficial at some point?

having multiple providers is fine.. but having 4 nn providers is pointless since realistically they all return the same results*. there are some slight variations between nn providers as some of them tweak regex's and some use nn+ vs just nn... etc.. but SBI (sickbeard index -- sb's own nn) is probably more than enough for anyone.. but having a backup nn doesn't hurt in case one goes down. then having a 3rd provider that is not a nn is then recommended if you like to dabble in the p2p releases which sometimes are the only ones that you can find due to not being capped by the scene or whatever the reason. really it just depends on what shows/quality you use. if you stick to the major network shows and do SD/HD then you could probably get away with only 1 nn provider.. it's when you start doing those shows that aren't capped you need to expand your search.

now for what providers to use.. i'd recommend:
use SBI first, then nzb.su/nzbs.org/whatever other nn as 2nd then finally use nzbmatrix/womble/whatever 3rd non nn provider as a last resort. do note that nzbmatrix has been battling random downtime forever now..

and all this without even talking about torrents.

Well only 2, the other are shows like southpark or mythbusters and house and bones and csi and stuff. So I don't that could be the problem?

non-english shows are not supported in sb. there are keywords in the source that blacklist dubbed/german/etc releases.

Any way we could get a 'scene exception' for American Dad. I have a ton of stuff downloaded but it's way the @#(* out of whack.

Meaning I have nothing from the second half of "Season 1" and everything is misnamed and out of order. I may have to just delete it all and start over with as bad as it is.

And of course, the usual bedside manner you would expect from The TVDB:

I don't think you realize what the scene exception is for. It's not to fix issues between tvdb vs scene episode naming differences.. its to fix the show name vs release name naming differences.

Aka, if the scene ripped the show as 'American Dad' and tvdb called it 'American Daddy'.. a scene exception could fix this. If tvdb says the latest episode is s04e20 and scene says s03e05.. well the only way to fix this is to rename the scene release to what the tvdb is.. or to go fix tvdb.

It is a nightmare when the tvdb does not match the scene...E.g. Mini serie divided into different number of parts. I guess the only solution is to add a switch to generate nfo based on file name. Or create an new show entry and re-direct to that with an exception daddy => myDaddy. Looks like a fair chance that would upset the moderaters Wink

Ah, I realized that once I started digging through the code.

I guess I'll have to add American Dad to the list of TV shows like MythBusters (last season) and a few others that I'm going to have to do manually.

And if you read my links, there's no chance in hell of changing TVDB.

I have now managed to set up sabnzbd and sickbeard on my Netgear ready nas duo. If I add a tv show in SB, sabnzbd does start the download of wanted episodes. So I think that part is working well nowSmile

But, what doesent work very vell is the automatic post processing. Ive followed this guide from the wiki:
Quote:To set up post processing, first copy the contents of the autoProcessTV directory from your Sick Beard installation to your SABnzbd+ scripts folder (or set your scripts folder to the location of the autoProcessTV directory). Rename autoProcessTV.cfg.sample to simply autoProcessTV.cfg and open it in a text editor. Change the host, port, username, and password values to the appropriate settings for your Sick Beard server. Then set the appropriate script as your postprocessing script inside SABnzbd+/HellaNZB.

What ive done is: Made the folder "\\192.168.1.12\c\.sabnzbd\scripts" and copyed the contents from Sickbeard\autoProcessTV to the scripts folder. Then I renamed the autoProcessTV.cfg.sample file to autoProcessTV.cfg, and then edited the settings for the sickbeard server.
Quote:[SickBeard]
host=0.0.0.0
port=8888
username=joeranjensen
password=*********
web_root=

I dont understand this line in the wiki: "set the appropriate script as your postprocessing script inside SABnzbd+/HellaNZB." Can someone explain me in details what to fill in in the "cateogories" tab inside SABnzbd configuration

Ive tried everything and been googling for hours now without coming any further with this, so I would really apreciate some help right now.

Thanks in advanceSmile

You need to select your sb script in column script row tv.

I only hawe two choyses in the script row, "default" and "nothing". Maybe ive missed a setting somewhere to add "sabToSickBeard.py" as a third choice?

As far as I remember it shows up when you put in the correct folder. It is likely you put it in the wrong location.

I made the folder "Scripts" just inside the Sabnzbd folder and copyed the content from Sickbeard\autoProcessTV to the scripts folder inside sabnzbd that I just created. Isnt that correct?

- vikjon0 - 2011-07-14

Reading from the text you quoted I see that you can see the correct path in the config....you should probably to take a look.
