These are likely because of more than one reason but the SB GUI does not make those reasons aparent.

Yes the GUI not reporting errors is a known issue which will be resolved eventually. In the meantime:

The Life & Times of Tim, Happy Town:

These both worked fine for me, probably TVDB was down when you tried adding/updating.

Am I the only one who's SB has stopped auto processing shows?
Started about a week and a half ago, I left it for a while to make sure it wasn't only certain shows. Its all of them.

I'll update my SB tonight as I might not be on the latest version. If that doesn't fix it I'll post more useful info here. I just was thinking it must be just me considering no one else mentioned this. Having said that I haven't touched a single thing in SB it just up and stopped processing.

Excellent little program though. it has made my XBMC experience almost complete. Thanks midgetspy.

I think it's had some trouble post processing because thetvdb has been down quite a bit lately and they have also supposedly been changing their api or something? correct me if i am wrong

- midgetspy - 2010-03-29

As long as the episode is in the DB it should still post process it but it won't generate the NFO/TBN. Mine has been post processing just fine.

midgetspy Wrote:Grep won't work, just do this: look at your log, note the latest timestamp, then do a force update and when it's done copy everything that's newer than the timestamp before the update. I'll try adding those shows and see what happens.

Let me have a go at that and get back to you.

midgetspy Wrote:All I can say is I've never had a single other user mention it and I can't think of a scenario where you can't just share the files or move Sick Beard. IMO it's absurd to say it's "VERY VERY common" considering I have hundreds of users who have no problems with this and only one user (that I know of) who does.

I don't know what to say. You either believe me or you don't, although I cant see a reason where i would lie Smile. I believe we just move in different circles. By means of some justification here is a list of over 100 commercial seedbox providers. http://www.seedboxlist.com/?page_id=5 . Thee providers meet with the demand for users with slow internet connections, allowing the bulk of the data transfer and processing to happen on an external box and the thus allowing the end user to download the bare minimum version of what they want. Usenet being so inefficient you can easily see a 20% decrease in usage for the exact same data. Just keep this in mind as one day these users will start coming.

Great tool - very excited about it's future.

Are there options for, or planned support for http proxies?

Best Setting - Pr.Sinister - 2010-03-30

I know we spoke about Web Downloads (iTunes HD Rips) but i can't recall if
anything was done about it.

Can you tell me what is considered Best as far as Sick Beard is concerned?
Is it size or tag (keyword)? And if it's tag which is Best?

There are more and more Web DL releases but also those idiotic (IMHO) 1080i
MPEG2 releases.

If i set a show to Best, does it consider 720p to be Best? On my scale, from
worse to Best, i have it this way :

1080i MPEG2
PDTV XviD
HR PDTV XviD
HDTV XviD
720p x264
720p Web DL (H264)
720p BluRay
1080p BluRay

Some of you may not agree with where i put 1080i but a huge ass interlaced
file is the farthest from what i want in my collection.

So my question is, will Sick Beard look for a Web DL even after i have a 720p
x264, if i set it to Best? I know i will download the Web DL one if i set it to HD
and nothing else is released before (ie. Justified 1x02).

One great addition may be to have a "Best HD" setting. 720p x264 is the lowest
it would look for.

Sick Beard only differentiates between SD and HD - any HD. HD is 720p x264 or better on your scale, SD is anything lower, but neither will match 1080i. There's no mechanism for re-downloading "better" HD episodes, mostly because I can't see really anybody ever using such a feature. I figure if somebody is really going to be that concerned about quality they'll probably want to manually police their reports anyway.

Hi midgetspy,
Let me start by saying a big thank you for all your hard work. SB is used and loved by lots of my friends as well as myself.
My question is when should SB scrape for information to update it's DB?? I've just found that my DB was very out of date (maybe because this machine is not on 24/7?) and so I've missed a few episodes of shows which isn't a big problem but I'd like to try to avoid it in future if possible.
Thanks

I have two questions:

1. How do you all auto-start SickBeard in Linux (Ubuntu)? For now I start it from the terminal but would like to start it upon login.
2. I download my TV shows using Flexget. SickBeard recognized a new episode and created .nfo and .tbn files, but didn't rename it automatically. How can I schedule an automatic rename too?

Thanks for your help!

- xexe - 2010-03-30

A tip for Linux users

grep -i incomplete sickbeard.log* | cut -d":" -f6-7 | sort | uniq | more
104551: TVDB object for 1x1 is incomplete, skipping this episode
104551: TVDB object for 1x2 is incomplete, skipping this episode
107471: TVDB object for 1x10 is incomplete, skipping this episode
107471: TVDB object for 1x9 is incomplete, skipping this episode
149621: TVDB object for 1x2 is incomplete, skipping this episode
149621: TVDB object for 1x3 is incomplete, skipping this episode

grep -i incomplete sickbeard.log* | cut -d":" -f6-7 | sort | uniq | wc -l
421

So thats 421 episodes in shows I am tracking that SB wont process. Some will likely be specials etc but until SB presents errors in the GUI you going to have to do something like this to complete tvdb data.

I was surprised how many episodes there were. This explains the problem shows i previously reported almost completely. Sorry about this i did not expect the scale of incomplete data to be so large.

It should update every show that isn't "Ended" every night at 3 AM.

At the moment the only way to do automatic renaming is to set up post-processing with SABnzbd.

Bit of a new topic here... I am having a problem with NZBMatrix downloads pushed to SABnznd+. When I get a match and it happens to be from NZBMatrix (as all of my shows from last night were). Instead of the NZB file being downloaded and added to the queue, the queue shows "Trying to fetch NZB from [url to NZB of interest here]" if I just copy and past the URL into a browser it immediately downloads the NZB (but then I have to copy it manually to my SABnzbd+ watch folder and then erase the stuck "Trying to fetch" entry. Any ideas on what's causing this?

I'd be happy to post the logs or other details (I am running under Linux) if needed, but thought this might be either common or obvious. Thanks.
