kiboy6 Wrote:Oh and one more thing...."Playlists" is no longer on the music sub-menu...any chance of bringing it back? Personally i would have it on the first page of the submenu (in place of artists or albums which can be set as the default music choice) but anywhere on the submenu would be great!

Cheers Smile

Howdy - sorry not got on this sooner, I was on holiday/vacation and just got back yesterday.

I've updated the SVN adding playlists to the submenu and hopefully sped up some parts of the skin that may have been causing screen transition slow downs.

Cheers

Thanks Sharpe - hope you had a good goliday!

The transitions back to the home menu are much snappier now Smile

I'm still experiencing a tiny bit of lag going into libraries (ie black screen for a few moments after selecting movies from home menu), but perhaps these were always there?
And I'm also experiencing a significant delay before the background image appears behind the film strip upon starting up XBMC.

Thanks so much for adding playlists to the music sub-menu...only thing is now "genres" has been bumped from the first screen. Personally I would much prefer genres to still be on that first screen as it's the submenu choice I use by far the most often. (I loved it in it's old #1 position).

I would happily lose either "albums" (never use it) or artists (set as default for music anyway) - what do you think?

Cheers!

I've altered a few things - see if that helps.

No worries, I've made the changes as you've suggested.

Yeah that's a new one - seems to only happen with the multimage control when using custom backgrounds - I'll look into it.

Some other changes to let you know about - I've made a few alterations to the music OSD layout and put in some support for CD art.

I am having a problem downloading the skin via the addons, I click install, however it does not install.

Yes I'm having a similar problem trying to download Night might just be a temp glitch with the repo?

- mcborzu - 2010-08-22

Might have been just a hiccup, as of this post I had no trouble downloading ALaska Revisted and PM3

- ppic - 2010-08-22

if you add the skin installated previously with another repo, you should delete your current night skin directory then restart xbmc and try to download it from official repo

- Sharpe - 2010-08-22

Cheers - I deleted an archived version of the Night skin that was in the packages folder and then it worked fine

Fanart for programs would need to be added - I do plan on working on the program views soon so will add it then.

The CD art can be downloaded automatically using one of the addon scripts otherwise you can add it yourself to the album folder as cdart.png. I plan to make some use of it soon in the music views.

thanks for the quick response...ive been searching forums for a while now looking for info. I must say this is quite an amazing skin, i chose this skin over all others for my home theater dash. Can i edit the xml file myself to add the fanart to programs/games? if so what lines do i edit? I have already edited alot of xmls and dont want to overwrite them with a new release just for fanart, although i might if i have to lol. If you can just steer me in the right direction or point out which lines to edit i can take it from there

also i cant get the movie countdown to work...i dont have it disabled either.

I'll do some work on this over the weekend and get back to your with the lines of xml you'll need to add

- mcborzu - 2010-08-27

This should work:
PHP Code:
<control type="image">
            <
posx>0</posx>
            <
posy>0</posy>
            <
width>1280</width>
            <
height>720</height>
            <
aspectratio scalediffuse="false">stretch</aspectratio>
            <
texture background="true">$INFO[Container.FolderPath,,folder.jpg]</texture>
            <
fadetime>5000</fadetime>
</
control

Put near top of MyPrograms.xml...
