RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Sharpe - 2012-07-07 No problem - it's now in place. RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - kiboy6 - 2012-07-18 Hi Sharpe, Hope you're doing well. Thanks again for all the recent updates...all really useful and/or good-looking Just wanted to bring up an old request of mine that, for me and others like me, would be an amazing feature and one, I'm pretty sure, that would be totally unique to BackRow: ----An option to have an XBMC experience with no reference whatsoever to either the actual time or the time remaining in a video.------ In other words, if I press pause, fast forward or rewind there would simply be a confirmation that the relevant button has been pressed. There would be no mention anywhere of "current time", "finish time" or even a progress bar. The reasons why this would be awesome IMO are; 1. ) I like to lose myself in a movie like I would in the cinema. In other words I like to keep pausing/ rewinding to an absolute minimum, but when I do need to do so it breaks the experience for me if I am reminded of the time in the real world and/or how much of the movie is left. 2.) I often play recorded sporting events on my XBMC. For these videos, knowing how much time is left in the file can often provide a concrete spoiler of the result (rounds in boxing, sets in tennis, is there extra time in football etc.) If it were possible to have this feature as a skin option titled something like "time-free mode" or "total escapism mode" i think it would be super cool. Thanks! RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Sharpe - 2012-07-18 Hi bud So let's see...you want a toggle to switch off specific items from the top line of the OSD when paused/rewinding/fast forwarding or using the OSD controls. Those parts being any reference to time labels and the progress bar which would just leave whichever OSD control you were using's feedback label in place. Yeah I suppose I can do that, RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - kiboy6 - 2012-07-18 (2012-07-18, 08:34)Sharpe Wrote: Hi bud Awesome...that's exactly what I'm after.....thanks so much for considering the request The option you describe would work perfectly....The prettier alternative would be to replace the whole "top line of OSD" we're referring to with a big symbol somewhere on the screen for the relevant pressed action (pause, play, fast forward, small skip etc). That might be more work though.....I would of course be happy to find / create those relevant symbols if you do want to follow that path... Thanks as always RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Sharpe - 2012-07-18 Let me see what I can do RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Sharpe - 2012-07-21 (2012-07-18, 06:41)kiboy6 Wrote: Hi Sharpe, Okay mate this is now in place - selectable via a skin toggle in Skin Options. I just went with a simple solution to show words when paused, rewinding etc rather than a load of new images (that way seemed to to fit more naturally to me). RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - kiboy6 - 2012-07-21 Wow...thanks so much....that is absolutely great...I agree that the text only approach is probably the cleanest / most attractive. One small tweak request if you agree....at the moment for any "step forward" or "step back" commands, the only OSD text is "PLAYING". What do you think about implementing the corresponding text for the following commands: StepForward StepBack BigStepForward BigStepBack SmallStepBack Thanks again man - this option is a major game-changer for me. I can't think of a single other skin, or even media player which has this simple feature available. My brother was very excited when I told him about it...this feature alone may bring him back to XBMC after he left long ago in favour of some boring out of the box hardware media centre RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Sharpe - 2012-07-22 (2012-07-21, 22:10)kiboy6 Wrote: Wow...thanks so much....that is absolutely great...I agree that the text only approach is probably the cleanest / most attractive. Cool - not sure if that request is possible though - I'll check RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Sharpe - 2012-07-22 Okay I've added the "Player.SeekOffset" label and changed the "Playing" label visibility to not display after stepping forward or backward. That is just perfect...thanks so much for incorporating this feature RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - kiboy6 - 2012-08-20 Hi Sharpe, Just a quick anal note about the "hide time in video" option. After fast forwarding or rewinding, when you press play the grey shading banner is shown at the top of the screen even though there is no text. (I think it used to say "playing" in a previous version). It would be cleaner if either the shading is not shown or if the playing text were still displayed. Thanks! RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Sharpe - 2012-08-24 Back home now - hopefully I've just fixed that. RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Filom - 2012-08-24 After Back Row's latest update, the possibility to select Movie Wrap View / Movie Cover Wrap View / Movie Fanart InfoView etc, the opportunity is not there anymore.. I use a remote control, but is there a keyboard shortcut key that i can use? A big thanks for the help and welcome back from holiday :-) RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Sharpe - 2012-08-24 Hi Filom - the latest update shouldn't have caused that to happen (well it didn't on my set up) sorry if you're having problems. Could you let me have few more details? It could be that you have enabled kiosk mode in the skin settings - have a look in there. RE: [RELEASE] Back Row (Skin) - Filom - 2012-08-24 Hi Sharpe - thanks for the fast reply :-) In fact, it is turned on !. And now it's turned off, and now it works again !!! Thanks, I'm glad it was me ! and not Back Row (as if...) that was the problem, that is what can happens with all the exciting possibilities in the Back Row setup. :-) |
