As someone working on a skin I still consider to be a joy to use (Ellipsis) and having access to the work the Xperience team are doing (its my default skin for personal use), I can say Alaska is not a threat to what the Xperience team are doing at all, nothing that is happening with Alaska or even Ellipsis will effect Xperience.
Remember all these projects are free and will always be free, so the only competition is what people feel more comfortable using. I personally think Alaska is gorgeous, so well designed and some of the menu layouts are beautiful and don't think I'm not getting ideas from them for my own skins, but I couldn't realistically use Alaska as me default, its too bright, its blinding in a dark room, which is how I like to watch my movies or tv shows, this is why Ellipsis works so well in its intended usage, in a dark media room!
I also applaud the guys choice not to release a skin early. Releasing a skin early is a horrible experience, no pun intended. People don't understand its unfinished, they cry and moan and want more now now NOW! Whereas taking your time and making sure something is solid before release, really pays off for everyone, skinners and end users. I'd always a prefer a skin I can use all the time rather than one I can look at and go "ooooh thats nice, well back to other skin because I actually want to USE XBMC, not fight with it".
Any chance of anymore screenshots XBMCG33K? Theres some beautiful stuff in the skin people might enjoy seeing more of

More screens will be coming very soon, an updated InfoGuide now called InfoPanel. It is quite striking honestly. Plus a new volume will be shown shortly as well as media scanning updates. And as always the screens will be hosted on our Team Blackbolt Project Page as well.

OK how is this look obviously I am no graphics artist lol just the coder but you can see how it will look just need arc to do the graphics.
