[LINUX] XBMC for Linux on Embedded Devices? - nomad2 - 2010-01-19 I'm not sure if it is right for me to start a new thread, and this question might have already been asked before but... OK, basically I just wanted to ask "I would like to build XBMC for my linux mobile, replacing the actual mediaplayer that is present, what can I/do I need to remove in order to make XBMC a more convenient size for embedded devices?" - althekiller - 2010-01-20 Eh...size is the least of your worries. Do we compile on w/e architecture your device is? What can it do in terms of 3d acceleration? Just because we run on linux doesn't mean we run on every device that runs linux. - nomad2 - 2010-01-20 The system is a Nokia Meamo so I would think that the usual linux 3D acceleration applies. - althekiller - 2010-01-20 No, it supports GLES and the CPU is ARM. Support for both is in the works but no where near prime time. - nomad2 - 2010-01-20 Really? I honestly thought that it would just be the same. Are you actually looking to develop for mobile devices ie through the WindowsCE OS? - althekiller - 2010-01-20 Not wince no. Embedded linux. Less for mobile devices and more for set top box applications. - nomad2 - 2010-01-20 Can you recommend a mediacenter like XBMC that I could put on my mobile? |
