Actually.. If anybody can find a sample that works on nvidia but fails on ati, a log from both would help.

If somebody would be so nice as to post his own, working on Nvidia, samples, I'd be happy to test and report back.

I'll whip a few from movies encoded at a few different profiles if I can figure out how to edit mkv's...

On my system (W7 x86, Nvidia 8500GT), most x264's I tried worked very well with this release. My only problem is xvid files. No matter whether I use Standard, DXVA or Auto, my non-24fps xvid files play back too slowly (I have one 30fps and one 60fps file that I tried). That issue aside, the progress on this feature looks great!

I am having great luck with my ATI card (4350)
Video playback is great and dropped CPU usage from 20% to 1%.

Only issue is with AC3 5.1. Audio is -65% of where it should be.
Requires me to max out volume on TV to hear audio.
Windows sounds are still loud and will make you deaf if i don't hit mute after watching.

I've got 5 clips that all work on my Nvidia ION 330 system with r27482. All are h264 with 2 being [email protected], one [email protected], one [email protected] and one [email protected].

I'll upload them and then PM you with links. Anyone else who wants to use them for testing PM me. They're just several seconds long and 8-14 MB in size.

edit: Sent you a link to the clips, ashlar.

Does anyone have a compiled version that can be downloaded? I have tried compiling my own, but it fails

Just a quick note to say that with xbmc-r27482-trunk.exe i'm getting messed up playback on img and mkv files, low motion and dropped frames.

The previous nightly build was working perfectly for mkv and vobs, some lip sync issues on avi's and img files though. I get an odd weird sound glitch when coming out of a pause sometimes, can clear the problem by rewinding and pressing play again.

I've gone back to the previous build.

My system is ION EB1501

Early days yet keep up the good work

I'm running 27481 works great on mkv, the only problem is, if I let a movie finish up by itself when it ends XBMC will freeze up. AVIs work fine though. Anyone else get this problem?

For these nightly builds do I need to uninstall then reinstall, for the jump from non-dxva to dxva I just downloaded and installed over top, so I am assuming I can do the same for this green screen fix? If not what do I have to do cause with xbmc-r27482-trunk.exe I still get a total green screen with any MKV's. ISO,IMG, and VOB all work fine. Thanks for the info. THanks

Hey, I've been using this with success but i am having an issue with my keyboard... when i alt-tab in/out of xbmc or even when it fades and comes back, my keyboard doesnt work in xbmc but the mouse does. Any known solutions?

Thanks!

Will this feature add any new de-interlacing options by chance?

Balthazar2k4 Wrote:I am not running an Atom, but I was curious to try the sample. It played flawlessly with DXVA enabled (not a single dropped frame). My processor never went about 10%. For reference, I tried using the standard software solution and my processor hit 92% with 32 dropped frames...
thanks for testing it,glad to here some system can play that perfectly. what video card are you using?

- toker - 2010-02-05

xbmc-r27482-trunk.exe on AsRock 330HT ION (Win7 x86)
everything play OK as far
mkv, wmv, m2ts, mp4, avi. Apple Trailers, BBC iPlayer HD.

audio levels are very low, like 60% lower from last release.
