I know i suck! - Pr.Sinister - 2010-05-30

Well i was up all night doing a bunch of logos but looking at some of the comments here, i will probably stop because they look fine to me but people are actually telling others to actually stop making them because they are so bad.

So here are my awful ones in case some are actually ok and i will stick to requesting...

Man it's funny how they look just fine on TV on a black background but not so much on here...

mcborzu : just keep the ones you think are ok...

Don't get me wrong I appreciate people taking the time to make these logo's and it is a great way to get experience using editing tools like Photoshop or Illustrator, I'm learning a lot of how Illustrator works, but you're not going to a museum with a crayon drawing asking if you can hang it in the modern art section next to that Picasso, are you? Smile

Don't give up just because you're work isn't received well, try harder learn more. Take critique as a motivation to do better.

I mean some of my logo's sucked, I just looked back and redid them, some turned out good other ones still suck. If I find a logo somebody made that I didn't like, I'd make a new one and post that. Then people can decide which one the like better.

I was going to apologise in advance before my request, but then I saw the Footballers Wifes logo. lol.

Could someone possibly do Chuggington & In the Night Garden?

I'm sure I'm not the only one on here with little ones Smile

Cheers

Vorm.

@Pr.Sinister

The majority of those seem good, only one's I'd take out are the Tila Tequila and I love 80's one..there rest seem good. Not everyone has Sranshaft's talent, I've had a few of mine I thought were pretty good only to be replaced by someone else. Doesnt bother me as long as the community gets the best results, then it works out in the end

Dont forget the Drop shadow, if using PS:

Opacity: 75%
Angle: 90
Distance: 2
Spread: 0
Size: 5

I will try to redo the ones that look like crap... If they are still crap, i will keep
them to myself Wink

I will continue posting only the ones i think are good... I have a lot of shows
(420+ shows) so it would be beneficial to the community if i could get better!

I can't stand Photoshop's interface. I use Corel-PhotoPaint X5. Would you know
what settings i could use for the drop shadow there?

For example, the On The Lot logo uses these settings for the Drop Shadow :

Preset : Small Glow
Shadow Color : Black
Shadow Direction : 0 Degrees
Shadow Offset : 0
Shadow Fade : 50
Shadow Stretch : 100
Shadow Transparency : 0
Shadow Feathering : 5
Feathering Direction : Outside
Feather Edge : Linear

The tooltips and options are :

Shadow Direction : Set the angle of the Drop Shadow
Shadow Offset : Set the distance between the Drop Shadow and the object
Shadow Transparency : Higher values make the shadow more transparent
Shadow Feathering : Sharpen or soften the edges of the drop shadow
Feathering Direction : Inside, Middle, Outside, Average
Feather Edge : Linear, Squared, Flat, Inverse Squared, Gaussian Blur

The direction and offset seem to be the same but 90 degrees and 2 offset looked
weird somehow... I guess i will try again...
