Eeebox 1501 - 1080 mkv stutter - StefanM - 2010-05-11

I have install xbmc on windows 7, but no matter what all my 1080p mkv movies stutter.

I have installed an external player, but yet it keeps laggin. If i play the movies in movie player classic or vlc the stutter continues.

Why is it stuttering, am i missing something?

Hope someone can help?

You have a PC that generally doesn't have the required pc power needed to decode 1080p videos without hardware video decode acceleration.

XBMC doesn't do this reliably yet. VLC I don't believe does it either. Media player classic can, if you set it up to, and the movie format is compatible with the graphics card decoding it.

I would first do a little reading on hardware video decoding through google to see what I am talking about.

If you are serious about XBMC, you can give the developmental versions a shot. Keep in mind though, that these versions are buggy, unstable and prone to crashing. So keep away if you aren't willing to get your hands dirty.
