As Dominator01 said, you're using a very old version of the script. The version you're using doesn't support login anymore because of a change in the way grooveshark.com is interfaced. Update to version 0.2.9 and upload a new log and we'll take it from there.

Thanks Dominator and Solver for your help so far.
You've both probably noticed my knowledge of computers and programming borders on the dangerous, but I do love xbmc and I do love grooveshark so thanks once again for your patience.
I did previously try v0.2.9 but it just freezes and I assumed that version wasn't suitable for xbox anyway here's the debug log http://pastebin.ca/1983725

you didnt turn debuging on in the script, it sez its off
also your xbmc is alittle bit old its from oct 3 its nov 6
remember to use pm3 with grooveshark and not confluence or pm3HD

its not confluence its the xbs version of confluence i made my own version with all the additions and fixes xbs offers and it now works so i dont know whats different about that skin but it locks up the script all the time

I didn't think my build was all that old I'm always reluctant to update the build for fear of bricking the whole thing and I've always held the philosophy in life that if it aint broken dont fix it but I'll take your advice and update can you tell me the best place to get the latest build and the best way to update, also how often should I update, as far as the skin is concerned I generally use basic 101 which I prefer but I also tried it with pm3, confluence and PM3 HD all with the same results Thanks

well i dont know what xbs is the version i was using was the one that came with xbmc4xbox

i really didnt understand your issue when you updated to 2.9 are you haveing issues of it loging in or does the script freeze on startup or something i know i should have asked this first but oh well

Sorry if I've caused some confusion it's probably the way I explain things when I said I tried v0.2.9 previously it just loaded up the screen and froze so It would't even let me try to enter my log in details I could do nothing with it, the blueskin version would let me search for song, albums etc and play them but wouldn't let me log in to my account, however I did as you said and updated my build to r30707 and things have progressed now I can log into grooveshark and access all my playlists but they wont play I also notice on a screenshot at the beginning of this thread showing tags next to each song title I dont get that either, I'm feeling like a pain in the arse now so thanks again for your patience here's the latest debug log http://pastebin.ca/1984321

xbs is the name of the user who made the confluence for xbox skin thats bundled with xbmc4xbox. i figured i'd post it for everyone to use where is the best place to put it?

grooveshark has a setting in 2.9 to change the main player so change it to mplayer or dvdplayer that should make the songs play
the next fuction aint there anymore for me also so thats normal

I know I promised you XBOX folks a new release, but I'm pretty swamped right now so I'll have to postpone it. Until then, try svn. Some new features are present, but they still need a little work.

If you are using XBMC Dharma then it's available in the addon manager under music. If you are using Camelot then have a look at the first post in this thread.

I have a dumb python question. You have a line in default.py that looks like this:

w = GrooveClass("grooveshark.xml", __cwd__, "DefaultSkin", isXbox = __isXbox__)... but isXbox is not a parameter of any __init__ method on GrooveClass (nor its parents). How is this working?
