- Roelio - 2010-08-19 No need for posting the same question in different topic's... But did you successfully completed the guide? The next two files will fix the wrong channel mapping of multi-channel PCM. sudo wget http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=f5f9654bb -O /etc/asound.conf sudo wget http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=f2e38265 -O /usr/share/alsa/cards/HDA-Intel.conf Also it doesn't matter if you got a 5.1 system. - Flomaster - 2010-08-19 Roelio Wrote:No need for posting the same question in different topic's... yes I did sudo wget those two lines and it didn't have any errors doing so. I figured maybe some people would be subscribed to one or the other thread and respond quicker. -=Jason=- - harryzimm - 2010-08-19 @ flomaster. Make sure you are using at least nvidia driver 256.25. Pcm was broken after 185 then fixed again in 256.25 cheers - Flomaster - 2010-08-19 harryzimm Wrote:@ flomaster. harry, I have 256.44 driver updated via the ppa before I had a 195 driver and I only got background sound no center channel. with this new one I get center channel but its being output via my rear left speaker -=Jason=- - harryzimm - 2010-08-19 Only thing i can think of doing it deleting the conf files and downloading again. Quote:sudo rm /etc/asound.conf Quote:sudo rm /usr/share/alsa/cards/HDA-Intel.conf Quote:sudo wget http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=f5f9654bb -O /etc/asound.conf Quote:sudo wget http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=f2e38265 -O /usr/share/alsa/cards/HDA-Intel.conf Quote:sudo reboot If you still have issues after these steps can you provide a sample of the file in question. I dont think i have a file with aac audio. cheers - Flomaster - 2010-08-19 ok I'll try that right now and have the wife report back to me, I do it via ssh from work. these files are movie trailers in .MOV format I used CouchPotato to scrape them. -=Jason=- - Flomaster - 2010-08-19 harryzimm Wrote:Only thing i can think of doing it deleting the conf files and downloading again. crazy shit... ok I removed the old config files. I added the new ones and now my center channel seems to have moved to my front left speaker. it was previously coming out of my back left speaker -=Jason=- here is where my trailer came from the 1080P apple one http://www.hd-trailers.net/movie/youth-in-revolt/ - harryzimm - 2010-08-19 Are normal ac3, dts movies working correctly? If so then your config is correct. Can you post a trailer somewhere, i cant download from that site. Edit: To test, disable dolby and dts from audio settings. They will be sent as pcm cheers - Flomaster - 2010-08-19 harryzimm Wrote:Are normal ac3, dts movies working correctly? If so then your config is correct. I wonder whats going on with this particular trailer I will have to get access to it when I get home I only have putty installed here at work. im not sure how I can get a sample of the file -=Jason=- - harryzimm - 2010-08-19 I wouldn't worry too much about it tbh. If its just one or two files in .mov format it doesn't really matter. I've had times when i start a movie and the channel mappings are wrong. All i do is restart the movie and its fine again. This doesn't happen much but it does happen, i think it has to to with auto adjust refresh rate but i could be wrong. cheers - Flomaster - 2010-08-19 harryzimm Wrote:I wouldn't worry too much about it tbh. I was trying to show off the HTPC and XBMC with the trailer feature and I was let down big time. now it should be fixed -=Jason=- - Flomaster - 2010-08-20 meh... still Fubar.. all aac 5.1 center channel is routed out my back left speaker when my audio track displays PCM on my amp... aac stereo plays just fine -=Jason=- - Roelio - 2010-08-20 I'll try this myself tonight. Normally I don't listen to AAC 5.1 but maybe I can reproduce the problem. - Flomaster - 2010-08-20 Roelio Wrote:I'll try this myself tonight. I had added to my asound.conf because I was trrying to get analog out of my head phone jack at the same time as hdmi. And during the process I unknowingly pressed the mute button on my remote. I went into settings and changed from custom to hdmi tried again ....no sound wtf grrr.... hrm may I have muted it. Sure enough it was muted. And alll audio is playing like it should -=jason=- - harryzimm - 2010-08-20 Good stuff |
