XBMC Subtitles and Legendas.tv provider - vsilvalopes - 2011-11-23
Hi !
I've found a problem when using XBMC Subtitles with Legendas.tv provider.
This is the only provider that I use, and it's configured to use Portuguese Brasil (PT-BR) subtitles.
The first problem is when downloading subtitles for "Mike & Molly" TV Show.
Legendas.tv saves the subtitles as "Mike and Molly", so even when a subtitle is avaiable, the add-on doesn't find any.
Using the manual search works with no problem, the string that I use to search is Mike and Molly (2011).
The second problem is with "The Simpsons" TV Show.
Using the Add-on shows the current subtitles for the episode, but when I select to download the subtitle, nothing happens. If I cancel (ESC Key) the video continues playing fine, but whitout subtitles.
I've tested this behavior with two different XBMC installs , both on Windows 7 x64.
I'm using Confluence Skin, and XBMC Dharma.
If necessary I can attach the logs!

I discovered after trying renaming the file among other solutions that if you choose to manually name the file and add 2011 (the year) in parenthesis it works on Napisi.
Attached you will find the log of that.Thank you kindly for your efforts and patience

the show is called Terra nova, you have the space at the end of the name which is causing the trouble. Your show is not named properly, its not the issue with the addon. adding the name to the end of the show is not needed if the show name is correct.

Ok the PM3.HD fix helped on the ATV2 version too.. I updated to the latest nightly and copied the script to the correct place.. and there you go.. working like a charm...

Hi !
This time I came with a log and more tests !
Again, I'm using Legendas.tv provider, with the Portuguese-Brasil (PT-BR) language.
I've tested the same language with OpenSubtitles provider, and everything went fine.
But when using Legendas.tv provider, only for "The Simpsons" the subtitle isn't download at all. It keeps "Downloading Subtitles" and nothing happens.

Subscenter service down - orivar - 2011-11-25
Hi everyone,
I was notified the Subscenter service has been down for the past couple of days. I've yet to look into it, so I don't know if this is a problem with the site itself or if they somehow altered their design (again) breaking the service.
I promise I'll look into it either way and if necessary made some changes, however I'm quite busy and it might be a few days before I get around to it.
Hang tight, and keep in mind you can still use the Sratim service in the meantime (it covers a very similar subtitles database...).

I use the addon on a XBMC-live installed to my Asrock330 ION with the 10.1 release of xbmc. Icefilms works perfectly, streaming everything. The only problem i have is when opening a tv show and use the xbmc-addon for subtitles it shows the subtitle, but when i select the sub it doesn't load.
When i try the same thing with a movie, the sub loads and i have a subtitled movie
Now i believe it is a rights issue with xbmc / linux. There seems to be a difference in where subs are placed and by default the subs with tv shows are wrong chmod'ed.
When uncheck the option at System -> addons -> enabled addons -> subtitles -> xbmc subtitles -> Configure -> Adv. Options -> Subtitle download movie folder same as movie to ie a pen drive, the subtitles do work, tv show as well as movies.
The problem with unchecking this option is that when i download a tv show to my NAS and while i watch it select the subs, it puts the srt file in the folder i specified in the unchecked option, not in the folder where my downloaded tv show is!
So my question is, what folder is used for subtitling streaming movies and what folder is used for subtitling tv shows?

I'd like to try to facilitate getting a new site/resource added to this plugin but am unfortunately not a coder (some scripting) and have no familiarity w/ python. Are there any specific resources regarding this plugin to research and investigate to how to incorporate a new sub source?

look at the services already included, service.py has standard search and download functions and has to return the specific info back to the main script.
if you get stuck, let me know maybe I can help

as far as I remember it 2.9X the latest version ( also old versions are not working)
the OS is ubuntu 11.04
