Hi,

first of all thanks for this great plugin. Unfortunately, after my windows system-reinstallation (now Win7 64 Pro) some months ago, I keep having problems with the plugin with it telling me "Error extracting subtitles" for most of the resources (opensubtitles, subscnede,...). Only sublight works, which has the major drawback of having to wait 45 seconds for the subtitle download.

You can find a log in http://... . In the test-scenario I first had also problems downloading from opensubtitles for some file (which is a rather unusual problem), then I successfully used sublight.si, afterwards I got the mentioned "extracting subtitles" error for opensubtitles on some other file. After that I changed the subtitle-plugin settings several times (e.g. to default, to dont store to the same directory ) and tried again, without success.

Following lines in the log show the error. So is the problem caused by the webserver?
Quote:18:05:56 T:2996 ERROR: WebServer: Failed to open C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\addons\webinterface.default\http:\\http://www.opensubtitles.org\en\download\subad\4011338
18:05:56 T:5884 DEBUG: CZipManager::GetZipList - Processing zip://C%3a%5cUsers%5cUserName%5cAppData%5cRoaming%5cXBMC%5cuserdata%5caddon%5fdata%5cscript%2exbmc%2esubtitles%5csub%5ftmp%5czipsubs%2ezip/
18:05:56 T:5884 DEBUG: ZipManager: not a zip file!

FYI:In the past(some weeks ago), after reading other relevant parts of this thread, I had also tried several other setting: double checked correct write permissions of my files&folders; tried with different hard-drives (most my media files are on a usb-drive, so tried also with media-files on built-in drive); set a manual path for the subtitles in the setting. None of these was successful.

Thanks for any help on this!

Hi, XBMC Subtitles isn't working for me too, after updating to Eden Beta 2. Version is 2.9.32. How can I get the debug log to post here?

Does anybody knows what's going on with subscenter? It doesn't working although it appears to be downloading the sub and gets back to play the movie but no sub is being displayed. A thread was also opened here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=120788

Any clue on my issue?? What could be the problem of the webserver failing to open?

Thanks in advance..

problem is that webserver should not be opening the zip ... no idea why that is happening.

can you please manually remove xbmc.subtitles from your addon folder and download fresh copy from the addon manager. post a log after that please

Is there any way to use this addon with an external player? The only way I can see how to download subtitles is to use the OSD, which isn't available when I'm using an external player. Are there any alternative methods to getting subtitles?

nope, only works within xbmc

Thanks for the quick response. Are there any future plans to add it as an option in the context menu, so it would be possible to download the subtitles before launching the external player?

Hello,

I can find the correct subtitle from subcenter, it looks like it's downloading, but in fact, nothing is downloaded.
in the log, i can see it's trying to download from incorrect url (so I think).

Can anyone help please?
attached the lines from the log:
Code:

I think the correct url to download should be:

Btw, it will download .rar file - is that ok?

Sorry for the late feedback. Here (http://...) you find a new log, which includes intallation of the addon after manually removing it. I dont see any difference. Hope you have some idea, what is causing the false usage of the webserver...

Thanks and regards

Update: Solved my Problem! I had proxy-server enabled in my network settings, without specifying the proxy. Works now like a charm after disabling the proxy... Thanks, anyway
